No, it's only a foul if "In the opinion of the referee" it's a foul. One of the joys of the Laws Of The Game and one of the main reasons there is asevere lack of consistency in refereeing decisions.

with regards to the atmosphere, sometimes you also need a cracking away support to get the home crowd going (like yours), and also things on the pitch also dictate how it goes..

Bizarre! I was going to post almost exactly the same thing. The atmosphere is the strangest thing, that's my 3rd visit to the CCS, twice before with the Swans and its always been good. Then I read on here how its not up to much?

He said there was contact caused by Bale running accross him. Much like all these "obstruction" decisions when a winger kicks the ball 40 yards in front, runs into the full back and then looks for the award!

Paul I'm old enough to remember (and was there) when Joe Jordon punched the ball and Scotland got a penalty at Anfield in 1977 which sent you to the 1978 World Cup in Argentina and not Wales. I was also at Ninian Park in 1985 when Scotland got another soft penalty to earn a 1-1 draw which allowed you to go to Mexico in 1986 at our expense.

Therefore any 'soft' or 'cheated' penalties Wales ever get against Scotland are well justified in my honoured and bitter opinion.

Sorry, I don't agree. Bale was going full pelt into the box. The defender got a slight nick which caused Bale's one foot to clip the other. If the defender hadn't made contact Bale was through on goal. Definite penalty. As was Berra's rugby tackle on Craig Davies. Fletcher's goal should have stood though as the ball from the cross didn't go out of play. Not sure if Adam was offside though in the build up as the TV didn't really focus on that in the replay. Neither of us will qualify.

Maloney trips Bale ..... penalty awarded , its simple really . In 85 we were done be a very harsh handball resulting in a penalty for Scotland . In 77 Joe Jordan handled the ball result was a penalty for Scotland , he handled the ball in the Wales penalty area !!!!! Harsh chief, I'm actually sticking up for Bale if you read it right! I don't think he dived(that particular time!!!)I've went on to blast anyone who does cheat and we could all list ten thousand incidents that have fucked us over wether it be club or country!! I thought it was out of order our players trying to get Ramsey booked as he clearly didn't claim for a penalty but at the same time, Bale also chased the ref screaming for it and i'd have booked him and Caldwell for their childish dissent.

None of us should accept cheating wether it favours or goes against us. Justifying it over a decision 30 years ago isn't the answer. Cheating has to be eradicated from the game.

. I remember being gutted in 85 after the non-penalty and how we were robbed. I was gutted this year over the penalty because it gave the incompetent nob another few months in employment. Wales will only move forward with a new managerial team. Personally i think Hartson should be involved in a minor role as he actually has passion for the shirt whereas Coleman is a total arse who has not got a clue.
