DON'T PRAISE COLEMAN

Fri Oct 12, 2012 9:23 pm

Seriously. He did nothing.

I was sitting relatively close to the bench tonight. Whilst Coleman was standing up the entire time, there wasn't any communication.

In the 10 minutes following Scotland's opener, not once did Coleman throw orders at his players, and when he attempted to later in the match, the majority looked the other way.

When Bale scored his winner, the bench went mental - yet Coleman was left stood on his own in the rain.

His form of communication with the players was a quick pat on the head, either when they came off or were about to go on.

I find it hard to praise the guy after tonight. I'll also go ahead and have a rant against Steve Morison. How on Earth is he a Premier League striker? 6ft. 2 and wasn't even arsed to jump to get his head on the ball.

Right, rant over. I'll conclude by praising the majority of players - and it was nice to see a fantastic goal from Bale.

Apologies on that front then. I had been celebrating myself, but when I looked to the side of me Coleman was standing on his own whilst everyone else was going nuts.

Must have missed that.

Again, apologies.

The whole team did well as you say...but your guide dog must have been obstructing your view of Coleman throughout the match, or did you have preconceived opinions of Coleman before the game ?
I sat behind the dug out and Coleman was constantly giving instructions, jumping up and down, arguing with the 4 th official. He was the 12th man on the pitch...give him praise when it's due.

I've never been the biggest fan of Coleman, simply because of his managerial decisions before taking charge of the national team, and tonight decided to keep a close eye on him - just to see what his matchday attitude was like.

Yes, he was out there and arguing with the referee - no doubt about that, but when it came to the players the communication was non-existent. Those around me also highlighted this.

Like I said, for the 10 minutes after Scotland had scored - a time when the majority of other managers would hand instructions - Coleman was silent. Apart from when we mumbling to himself and pivoting, that is.
