Your first ever Cardiff game or ever football league game?

As soon as I got into football I supported Cardiff and apart from Wales games, I have only been to Cardiff City games. My first ever game was against Derby County, the season they went up. When I entered Ninian Park I knew that I would be visiting it a lot more. I even remember that I had chips that day that are the best I've had even to this day. After a goaless first half, Glenn Loovens headered in the first ever Cardiff I'd seen. I even remember seeing the ball go into the net and the whole stadium rising and roaring for the goal. Then Derby scored and I was devastated but Chopra took us the lead not long after. Even though Giles Barnes made it 2-2 at the last minute, it still remains in my memory, and always will until the day I die. What was your first game like?

City vs Birmingham, August 2006.
I was 10 years old and went to NP for the first time with my dad. I don't really have to say much about the game. We won 2-0 with goals from Ledley and I think Parry to go top of the league. Atmosphere was possibly the best I've ever witnessed down the City

I haven't got a clue. We'd been promoted 1975-76 season and my Dad took me to a pre-season friendly in the summer of '76, before the start of the 1976-77 season. I don't honestly remember who it was or the occasion, unfortunately.

My oldest memory is of the game against Spurs in Jan 1977, when we knocked them out of the FA Cup with a goal by Peter Sayer. I was in the terrace beneath the grandstand on the Canton side of the tunnel and he scored into the Canton End goal, so I had a brilliant view of it. What a goal and what an occasion!

That was a very exciting first season for me with some big matches and large crowds. I think we had about 35,000 at the FA Cup game against Everton after we beat Spurs.

1972/73 season Cardiff v Bolton. 1 nil to Cardiff, 9,500 crowd, Grandfather took me on the Bob Bank.

Saw Bury Town 7 times though before I saw Cardiff, as my Grandfather was a season ticket holder there.

first city was the 3-0 win against donny at ninian park 08/09 eddie johnson scored
first away match with city was barnsley 10/11 won 2-1 not missed one since

versus Coventry, season 66-67.

1-1 draw. 17 year old John Tosahck given penalty to take with about 10 minutes left and missed the goal by 5 yards!

1988, Division 4 on a miserable Tuesday night (honest!). We were home to Doncaster who were 2nd in the table at the time, we were 14th I think. I remember Doncaster played in their away kit of green shirts, white shorts and green socks. We lost 2-0 and despite us being awful back then, I was hooked, despite us getting hammered at home to the likes of Maidstone etc.

1st saw CCFC in a friendly at Aberystwyth Town.
1st Lge game 25th Feb 1981 v the Geordies.
My 1st ever league game was 21st April 1979-Aldershot v Wigan.
My 1st CCFC away was Newport in 83.

First ever City game was in 2001 against huddersfield we lost 2-1, peter thorne scored for us
First away game was Cheltenham in 2002, we drew 1-1 Andy campbell scored for us

1969/1970 4-2 v QPR. First away was Bury in 1976 the season we got promoted.

Cardiff v Ipswich (March 2005)

My dad took me to my first game when I was 10, it was an awful game and we lost 0-1. I was hooked ever since.

1st saw Cardiff play against Mansfield Town in 1998. It was my 7th birthday and my Dad took me down. We ended up winning 4-1 and I was hooked ever since

I remember that game, it was an evening game, we was top and Mansfield were 3rd I think. Mansfield really took the game to us at the start, but we ended up battering them. I remember Mark Delaney hitting the byline and pulling a cross back for Kevin Nugent to power a header in.

City v Peterborough 1990.

My first game was cardiff v arsenal milk cup 1982/83
Went to a few merthyr games before that though including the one where merthyr did the jacks

Circa 1965/66 City V Bristol I think. I remember being on his shoulders for most of the time so I could see.

Cardiff v Hereford 1987.

Can remember it being a very hostile and I believe Hereford got a 1-0 win

Went down with my step father and we would always sit in the grandstand block F, always had a bloody pillar in the way.

Bristol City 2001. Scott Murray tore us apart!! Brilliant atmosphere. What an introduction to Ninian park and football.

Reading away in 2001, we won 2-1 with 2 goals from the legendary Leo Fortune-West

7 years old 1972 v Swindon 1-1. I think my father, who was a rugby fan, was hoping that taking me on the Bob Bank would scare me into liking rugby

Addicted by the noise, singing and sheer tribalism and 40 years later maybe this year is THE year

Merthyr v Newport Welsh Cup Final 1987 at Ninian Park

Cardiff City V Sheffield Utd 1982 we won 2-0

Cardiff vs Qpr.. Last day of the season in 2004/2005 maybe.. McAnuff scored can't remember it all to much.
My brother went a lot and had to look after me and took me down..

Cardiff v Hereford 1975-76 season = 39,000

FA cup in mid 60s against Man City.....drew and went to a replay.

Stood in the enclosure in front of the grandstand...could see almost nothing.

Didn't go again until a few years later, Div 2 against Coventry. Still got the programme.
