only a few years back we had crowds of 40,000 to 70,000 at the millenium stadium and against small international countries, why is it with scotland that we haven even sold 20,000???????????,personally when the draw was made i thought this game would have been a sell out at the millenium

It's not dead yet but it's going that way for Wales.

But those crowds were at the millennium stadium when it was still a bit new and charging £5 a ticket.

Club football is slowly killing it. Even for meaningful qualifiers players seem to get "convenient injuries", but are fit for their clubs the next week.

Ironically, I see the best way forward for international football would be to use the Olympic model (without team GB), ie for players under 23 with 3 over age players allowed.

Players may be more keen to play if it brings them to the attention of top clubs.

Definitely not dead - not worldwide, at least.

Coleman is a blip for Wales. We experienced it before Speed, and we'll experience it again in the future; every country does.

But I do believe there will come a point where the FAW finally make the right decision.

No, its not dead. Just ask Belgium! Just that Wales are going through a particularly bad patch.

Either Chris Coleman or Craig Levein will be sacked by this time next week. Possibly both.

International football won't die it's massively popular.

International football's not dead but Gavlars' pet mouse Elvis is. He loved that mouse. But now sadly, Elvis has left the building.

Dead as a f*cking dodo.
Players picking and choosing-should be your greatest honour!
Managers pressuring players to pull out.
meaningless friendly one week into a new season
Friday nights?
Ticket prices

When players get back to the real world and playing with passion for there country and not pulling out because they want to watch deal or no deal or they got a huge game against dog n duck thirds for there club on the sat. Get some pride back in to it. All countries not just us.

BASICALLY COLEMANS fault  40k tonight top the group I wouldn't even be commenting on here :|

I can't take England seriously. It's like a f*cking circus every single tournament. Pathetic at times. I suppose that proves it isn't dead.

Yes & should be scrapped with immediate effect

Some of my best football memories have come from international matches including our wins against Germany, Brazil and Italy. I also love the major international tournaments. I still believe the World Cup is the greatest sporting event in the world. However, it's tough being a Wales fan and has been for a while. It was good under Speed, for a bit, but even that took a good 6-9 months to get going and only lasted another 6-9 months.

I enjoy it more as a neutral but I'll still support Wales and hope that one day we will qualify.

International football in the season spoils the proper games and it is only of the slightest interest in the close season.

Roll on the next proper game away to Nottm Forest :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Summed it up nicely.

Because I'm a football fan and not a hugely passionate follower of any sport, the World Cup for me is the pinnacle of sport. Nothing is bigger.
