Dear Plastics..

Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:29 pm

Had to get this off my chest with all the threads about "coming round to the red" but just because we are doing well after only 10 games doesn't mean the red will be accepted neither if we get to the promised land the premier league will it be accepted.

No one said it would but can I just ask what you define as plastics? The word gets used alot on here but surely as a fan of a championship club that hasnt had top flight football in 50 yeras how can you be a plastic supporter? I thought that was reserved for fake armchair fans?

Its crazy. We aren't a big club so can barely have plastic supporters the only ones I'd count are the ones that jumped on the Wembley bandwagon and only went to that match but thats about it.

Whats a plastic then? Are we all plastics because we attend games??

I see the change to red as a temporary measure which hopefully will allow the club to sort itself out financially and put it on a firm footing for the future. (Yes that all depends on debt to equity conversion, but I have faith it will happen)

It does hurt seeing Cardiff play in red but it is nothing like the hurt of seeing us relegated or playing in the dungeon division or seeing the club appear in court to answer another winding up order from the HMRC.

I have absolutely no doubt that one day we will again play in Blue but for now the sins of the past have to be paid for and playing in red is the price we must pay.

Thats your opinion and I believe a minority, I have embraced the red allbeit finding it a little difficult at first. I know i am in the minority when I say I actually like the new badge, liking the fact that it portrays the welsh dragon... :ayatollah:

agree with the above post 100%

might just be me but id much rather see cardiff city play wolves and leeds off the park than struggle against wycombe wanderers or rochdale(with all due respect to those sides). most people who enjoyed "the dark days" only went for a drink and a brawl
comparing us to the newcastle situation is way off the mark aswell, theyd still have a football club without wonga ,we probably wouldnt without Tan

Be accepted by who? yourself,KCB?

Makes no difference to me whether it's accepted or not I'll continue doing what I've done for very many years (I'm 59 and can remember players like Dilwyn John, Gareth Williams etc) and that is support my hometown team. They're called Cardiff City they're my team I'm not a plastic and it's status quo for me if the City are playing I'll be there. Happy Days!

So Critichie - I was born, raised, studied, lived and worked all my life in CARDIFF. Been supporting and going to games for for the past 20 Years.

I'm not as bothered as some of you with the whole re-branding..and I don't mind wearing Red (obviously prefer Blue.. but not like we can do anything about it).

I could have supported the Man Utds, Liverpool or London teams.. but I didn't because I support and love my HOME team!
Does that make me a plastic??

What is the difference between your definition "red brigade" and real fans? We all support Cardiff city and it's worrying for someone like you and a few others to differentiate the fans. Again I have been a fan of my hometown for 20 years..but I have a Red (and blue) shirt. What makes u think u are more superior than the others?

my dad is also bitter because he has a bluebird tattoo.. so I understand some your views and objections of the re-branding.... but I just think u lot shouldn't be taking it out on the people here and start differentiating people.

Its not the content of your post I've got a problem with, just the heading. If I posted a topic with the heading"Dear petulant Blue Lovers" I'm guessing you for one wouldn't be too happy.I'll be honest here, people like you only harden my resolve on the subject of the rebrand-you need to grow up.
