OK chap, I recall now.
I would saw that Howells should put a junior solicitor on this one. That will mean your costs will be a bit lower than it could be. It will still be expensive though. Around £130 per hour is a good guess.
When you go and see them make sure your get their cost per hour plus how long it will take. That is NOT how long it will take in days to get a result but how many hours they expect to commit to this case. You could be waiting a year or so for a result but theymight only spend 6 hours total working for you.

From what I know about legal aid are:
1. To gain a legal aid certificate there must be a beneficial outcome for the public. Prime example is if you have a case against fraud that could effect the public then you qualify for legal aid. I believe this is one ofthe reasons divorce cases don't get legal aid these days.
2. You need a good chance to win your case to get legal aid.
3. I'm not sure what the threshold limit it for wages but your HOUSEHOLD income needs to be below that.

I used Howells in Caerphilly, take 3 months payslips/bank statements showing wages going in etc an they can check how much you may qualify for, I qualified for full aid which was a bonus... They'll refer you for mediation as that's the first port of call in these situations normally then if that doesn't happen it's court

If it's the same Howells that are also based in Swansea then they recently represented me in the purchase of my house.
Had no problems what so ever and were always there on the end of the phone to answer any questions.
No idea on costs because it would obviously vary.

I'm a qualified sol but don't work in the field now
Ill give you some advice on PR contact Etc if you pm me its fairly straightforward bud and dependent on your income you will qualify for legal aid on family matters. I know Howells well got friends who worked there you'll be fine

this is one useless solicitors mate - i know all solicitors drag things out to make more money but these take the piss. And i guarantee you will have numerous solicitors assigned to your case because staff turnover is extraordinary. Wouldn go near them again

Hence why I said ask the question how many hours do they expect to take.
