GETTING THE BEST FROM WHITTINGHAM

Sun Oct 07, 2012 7:24 pm

I think Jordon Mutch is the dogs bollocks. Not just very good defensively and covers
a lot of ground. But when he has the ball he is very direct and not afraid to carry it.
Whitts trots up behind him and seems to get a lot more shots in when Mutch is playing.

but would anyone drop Gunnarsson? Harsh!!

Innit great having options like this :D

I think Gunnar can bring the best out of Whitts. Just as long as Whitts isn't sitting behind the back four, he needs to be in an attacking role to be most effective :ayatollah:

Mutch reminds me of Yaya Toure.. not on the same level but carrys the ball very well. :ayatollah:

Another selection headache for Malky, do we drop Craig Noone for Craig Conway? or play both and keep Smith on the bench.

I have been very impressed with Conways work rate during the pre-season, especially after that injury......so will he start against forest? I hope so :ayatollah:

If he can remain injury free. He will be the best midfielder in the division

Mutch is my first choice
Tommy Smith is my first choice right mid
If anyone snot playing well we have options

If in Nooneys case last game he performed out of sorts and Conway is brought on and changes the game in the fashion he did keep him for next game.

Strength depth competition I love this team and squad!

Cowie and Gunnarson haven't played well enough to keep Mutch and Tommy smith out.

When these players are on the other team doesn't have an option to worry about Whitts,

In my opinion anyway

I do agree
I do feel Gunnar has got better and better recently with games and I thought played well against Ipswich, covered a lot of ground and did well.

Mutch won't start against Forest, Gunnar has been playing well lately so it would be unfair to drop him when he's doing well for someone who has been injured.
But there's not much between him and Mutch, both top CM's for this division and it's a shame we can't have them both without dropping God.
----------Mutch-----Gunnar--------
Smith---------Whitts------Noone
--------------Helguson--------------

What about that midfield when Bellamy is injured? Swap it around then according to form/injuries to the wingers. It's the only way we could accomodate both Gunnar and Mutch :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

touch of the michael carricks.i said when you took him of us he was a good lad.all the ccfc fans have to remember he,s a young un and will make the odd mistake as he learns the game.whitts can play higher up with j.m in the team.mm won,t want gunnersson having the ball off the defenders too often, hence whitts playing deeper.with j.m he goes deep for the ball.short or long.good vision ,not bad in the tackle and good in the air.6ft c/mids protect the centre halfs.fellow behind me at blues has a son who played for blues youth.played with j.m.said he is a nice lad.also j.m played up top for blues youth at times.bagged some too

that is a good 451.give or take a change of widemen.442 (bellamy or mason playing 2nd forward)i,m afraid gunnarsson warms the bench.with that 442 bellamy can drop in midfield or roam across the line

Mutch is the type of player that if we get promoted we will end up selling on for £15m-20m. He is a future England international, that is for sure. Composed on the ball, strong, direct, picks a good pass and good work effort. It will be a travesty if he does not make the senior team.
