Sun Oct 07, 2012 2:56 pm

Just watched dvd of city v brum 2006(city were top of championship)we won 2-0.What an atmosphere that game-bob bank rocking, grange end bouncing,A and B blocks of the grandstand egging the zulus on(birmingham fans having a pop at the stewards)all this in less than 2 hours!!!!!!Half time in the bar(rotting portacabin actually)behind the bob bank, everyone singing-AGGGGGGGHHHHHHH god i miss those days.

I was talking about this recently. What a cracker it was. Great game, superb atmosphere from start to finish and we beat one of the fancied sides 2-0.

yeah we drew with wba in midweek and bryan robson phoned steve bruce to warn him about the atmosphere.bruce said his team were to professional to let that worry them, but afterwards admitted some of his team had succumbed to it.he said it was a throwback ground-it was our special place, a great place.

We didn't take advantage of that, as City fans, often enough. We should've realised, particularly towards the final years, that a lot of players were used to playing at quieter, more modern grounds. When they came to play at Ninian, we should've abused them more and truly been the 12th man. We did it sometimes, especially during the derbies and against Leeds in 2002, but not enough.

Dave jones did'nt think much of the intimadating atmosphere.Remember being in the beverly after match, and saying we must be close to top now, then the table came up on telly, and the whole pub erupted. One of the happiest days of my life,we was playing high tempo quality football sadly we could'nt keep it going

I miss those days, and those days were only a few years ago. So much has changed since then.

That's it. They filmed some of that right by me in the Bob Bank, because I saw Gezza on there and he was only a few seats away from me.

Great stuff. You're a natural - far better than some of the reporters on BBC Wales and ITV Wales.

If you look at around 23 minutes at full time Ali says through the tannoy "We are top of the league!". He should do stuff like this now to get the atmosphere going if everyone hasn't fucked off out of the stadium yet
