Still think the midfield is playing to deep.

Sun Oct 07, 2012 11:17 am

Great win yesterday, but we made it a lot harder than it needed to be.

Why was our midfield playing so deep?

They had a unfit 32 playing in CM.

We should of blown them off the park in midfield.

Great to see Conway given a chance.

me too,

just because helguson scored 2 tap ins it doesnt change the performance, they had more efforts on goal they are 23rd in the league

you never seen the likes of southampton and west ham , getting out shooted last season, they were top and they always had more efforts on goal

Cardiff, after ten games this season as opposed to West Ham after ten games last season:

Cardiff City: P 10 - W 7 - D1 - L2 Goals scored 19 - Points 22
West Ham: P 10 - W 5 - D3 - L2 Goals scored 18 - Points 18

Cardiff are TOP. West Ham would be SIXTH

But I get your point. Cardiff really must do better :?

And most clubs dont look as good without their best players. Common sense really. We got a gritty 3 points at a place we have always struggled to pick up points & a very difficult place to go.

When Man Utd win and play poor, its the sign of a good team. When Cardiff City do it, its not good enough ?

But the example you gave was complete nonsense. Of course we dont look as fierce
without Bellamy, Maynard, Mutch and Smith... Those four would walk into any team in
this division.

but we're still winning. The other top teams will suffer key injuries and suspensions and
will lose!!

We did sit too deep. But not through choice. Noone was a bit off the pace last night and
Taylor ended up with Edwards and JET pushing on him. We were on the back foot too
much. We adapted and overcame.

We are the second highest scorers after Burnley. Not bad for deep lying midfield :?

We didn't play poor.

The set up was wrong.

As soon as the subs came on and we had a go at them we started to create chances.

Like I said, they started with a unfit 32 year old in CM, there was no need to play that deep against them. We could have blown them away in midfield and run the game from the get go.

Great to see Conway come on. Class player and will only get better with more playing time.

TaffyApple by accident you also make an excellent point about our squad strength. If we had lost our 4 best players last season before this fixture it would have been hard to see how we have got anything out of the game.

However, not only could we put out a good first XI but we had options on the bench to change the game.

Wow big deal we won guys, its not the goals that dictate performance , its the stats!
We've been lucky this season in games, we could of gone behind, then
have scored against the run of play, or teams like huddersfield could of dicked on us got unlucky,

theirs nothing seperating us from the other sides in the majority of performances just luck, and we'v had 2 or 3 fantastic games other than that its luck

I'm amazed at that statement, you could roll the ball into the opposing keepers hands from the half way line and look like you have been peppering their goal for 90 minutes!
Stats are often bollocks mate.

STATS DICTATE????

The stats prove that we are far stronger at this stage of the Season than West Ham were
last year. You used them as an example of what a top side in this division should be like!!!

So by your own standards.... we ARE a bloody good side
