' EVERY 5 GAMES '

Sun Oct 07, 2012 9:43 am

If we can achieve 10 points from every set of 5 games then it is pretty certain we would achieve automatic promotion, so looking at the next 5 games can you see us getting those 10 points or more?

Nottingham Forest Away
Watford Home
Burnley Home
Bolton Away
Charlton Away

Tricky set of fixtures there I believe but what do you think ?

Can't see us beating Bolton, but we're hard to beat so I can see a draw there.

If we don't get 16 points out of that set of fixtures I won't be happy!

Notts Forest - 3pts
Watford - 3pts
Burnley - 3pts
Bolton - 1pt
Charlton - 1pt

Averaging 2.2pts in these games....the Blues are going up. Or Reds...or whatever.... :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We have to look at 6 from the 2 home games. No easy aways but ill go for:
Forest - draw
Bolton - lose
Charlton - win

10 points :ayatollah:

They're all potentially tricky in this league, I can see us winning at Forest with all our players back ( bar Maynard) but then maybe drawing either of home games, only because I can't really remember us winning 6 league games on the bounce.
11 points for me 3 wins 2 draws which would be awesome. :ayatollah:

That's interesting Spike. Are you aware of injuries coming up after the Watford game then? :D

We'll take 15 points from that lot, meaning we only need 5 points from the next set of 5 fixtures

I think 9 points from those would be reasonable.

Any more would be more than reasonable - and entirely possible.

As I said yesterday, Carl, I think we'll beat Forest, Watford and Burnley.

Bolton and Charlton, I'm not so sure of. I suppose we could get at least a point out of the 6 on offer there, so that's the 10.

We're looking good.

Nottingham Forest (away) - Draw
Watford (home) - Draw
Burnley (home) - Win
Bolton Wanderers (away) - Lose
Charlton Athletic (away) - Win

= 8 points

I'd actually be happy with this because they say you need to average 2 points a game to achieve automatic promotion. By the time we've played these fixtures we will have played 15 games and if we get 8 points from these fixtures we will be on 30 points, which means we'll be right on track. :ayatollah:

I'd take 9 points from that. You have to factor in that we'll have to wear the dreaded blue for 2 of the games ;) :ayatollah:

In fairness Nat I was being facetious with the 16 point statement simply because I believe there is too much negativity on this board.

But now I think about it, it might be a good idea to award a bonus point if any team gets 5 wins on the spin! I appreciate a team may get lucky and have 3 home games and 2 away with the bottom 5 sides but how many teams actually win 5 on the spin? (apart from Leicester  ). :ayatollah:

Impressive stuff :) I meant six consecutive league wins, Blackpool, Brum, Ipswich, I think we'll beat Forest meaning we have Watford followed by Burnley. We can & hopefully will beat Watford which would mean we would have the chance of 6 consecutive wins.

I can't remember us doing that and realise we are a long way from doing it?

I know you're really good with stats and History along with others on here, but when did we last do it?? :ayatollah:
