got to agree with you there but he made a difference when he came on

He wasn't very good but it gave Ipswich another question and it helped.

It was only his first game back, but if I were to stick my neck out, I would say that he is not good enough, I hope he proves me wrong.

No matter what the doubters say i feel gestede will play a big part in our campaign off the bench

this is a step to far for him. he came on as sub and i thought. shit, thats it . its all over. didnt impress me when he came on. wins headers. but no direction on them, hes a league 1 player at best

Not good enough if this season is going to be our season

I think Malky is right to stick with him.
He has not had a continuous run in the team due to injury since he's been with us, but if he can stay injury free he will be a good squad player offering different options up front

The scousers i spoke to after the wembley game were full of praise for gestede

Malky wouldn't have given him a new contract had he not thought that Rudy could offer something, even with all the forwards we have.
Today was his first game back from injury, so he needs time.

He missed almost every header and fell over after mistiming his jumps.
I did see him complete one pass though so that's a marked improvement over last season.

He is a decent player just needs to stop the flair style of passes. Just keep it simple, make the pass, thats it. His runs in the box, his tormenting of defenders in the box means he will always have 1 or 2 on him which frees up other players to drift into space. Helguson was far more effective when Gestede was on because the defenders were preoccupied with Gestede. It further adds to the fact Malky needs to stick with a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. A 4-5-1 leaves Helguson isolated and whiles he does well to lead the front with a partner he can be more effective.

Im not a fan of Rudi i must admit.
but he offered something a bit different when he came on and gave Helguson
a bit more freedom. We won 2-1 so it worked!
