Read in the Echo today that Nicky Maynard is due back in the new year. I thought he was going to be out for the season. Is this article correct or a misprint?

I saw that. I suppose it was just the usual poor quality control by the Echo. I'd be very surprised if he plays any games before next season.

Good news if true. If he's back by march then that's great. That would mean by April he'll be back in the swing of things ready for the crucial period

They are hoping that Nicky will start light training in the New Year, Jan/Feb, I expect him fully fit by March, to me, he has missed the season.

I honestly think March is optimistic.

the truth is nobody can realky tell. it all depends how he heals. some people have been back after 5 months, some 12 months.

Imagine havin him back for the last few games, to push us over the line, here's hoping

If recovery goes to plan he will be back in April and I have already bet on him scoring the promotion clinching goal.

Any return before the end of the season would be a massive boost to the squad and could give an impetus at a key stage of the season.

If he can play the final 6-10 games, then that is alot better than what we was expecting

Yes, a fully fit Maynard in March or April could be decisive in a tight league this year.
