A forum for all things Cardiff City

So all my fellow Bluebirds, I am reading things like your boycotting all Welsh games, and theres a Jack bias, the FAW is a dinosaur that needs an overhaul, the manager is this and that, no strength in depth, etc. And I AGREE with some of this, BUT I support and follow MY COUNTRY through good and bad times. Just as I have with the Bluebirds and all its adversity over the years. (Plenty of that!)
My question is this, these turbulent times for our national team why are you turning your back, encouraging crap attendences playing into the hands of the opposition and actually making things even worse. WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT ABOUT CARDIFF CITY AND WALES? Did you want Dave Jones out? Phil Neal? Bobby Gould? The Riddler? Sam? The rebranding etc, some of the awful football we had to endure back in the day, big issues with our club, Did you boycott then?
Or do you care more about City than Wales? If so, fair enough. Thats for you, I can understand that. No probs.
BUT, If you care equally for club and country, and you are boycotting, (and you wouldnt turn your back on City in equal circumstances) its hypocritical, its double standards. Yet, if Coleman turned it around (I dont think he can but just saying) and got us going again, would you then come back? Thats plastic if thats you.
And just like the rebrand stayaways, I respect your decision, but its very disappointing and frustrating.

FAW is a joke, when it sorts itself out perhaps I will watch Wales play.

Fair enough, but I am still puzzled by this common mentality and opinion amongst many Bluebirds, would you boycott City if you thought our board was a joke?
In a twisted way, I get equal enjoyment from being a loyal supporter in tough times, (Gould as manager playing Mansfield in the freezing rain) as I do in the good times (play off semi win in our new stadium). And thats how I feel about Wales, Coleman IS the wrong man, The FAW needs an overhaul from the schools upwards etc. But I will be there a week today.

Never while Coleman and Hartson are in their posts. Hardly missed an international at NP or Arms Park, or to start with at The Millenium, but haven't been now since we lost to Finland and Germany in the last world cup qualifiers as kids were more interested in having Season Tickets at the city.

An English captain? That's not Wales for me. No interest in going.
Fri Oct 05, 2012 5:22 pm
politics aside im just going because it will be a damn good game of football(hopefully) on a friday night, the scots are travelling in numbers which will make it a good atmosphere
I share the same views as most people on here about the FAW,coleman, hartson, ashley williams but id much rather go to the game than a stinking local or watch england on tv personally

I won't return until the chuckle brothers have fooked off.
Boycotting is the only way that fans can show how unhappy they are with the way things are being run - and hopefully have an effect. I have followed Wales home and away for many years but I have had enough, coleman and hartson have no idea what they are doing......in my humble opinion.

You have answered your own question.
There is NO difference between Cardiff City and Wales.
Yes, clearly, people did turn their back on Cardiff, we had crowds of 3,000 in the 90's and now we get 20,000+ so yes
people did boycott when they didn't like Russel Ossman, or whoever you want to insert.
Wales got 70,000 crowds 8 years ago, now they get 20,000 if their lucky.
Its nothing to do with caring more about one or the other, in the main, its about success, success breeds confidence, confidence brings victories, victories bring crowds, untill the, the crowds will be poor, same at club level, same at international.

I can't bring myself to go, while we look so poor I would rather catch the result on sky. We look as if we don't know what's happening on the pitch now. Until things change with the powers that be, I would rather stay away. Myself and a few mates got belgium and Scotland next year but if things don't change I will drink in the bars...

Will never watch wales with Coleman in charge

Jeez, this I guess is a rollcall to get you all to change your mind and back the nation, unless next Friday the CCS will be like Hampden park. Those cheating Jocks will be laughing at us just like in 77 and 86. Coleman and Hartson are the wrong choice I couldnt agree more, nothing to do with the Jack connection I am not that shallow, but there was an initial clamour for Speedo to walk before he turned it around. I still followed Wales and City under Gould, that was awful.

It wont be any different to the last time we played them at CCS mate.
I was there that day, we won 3-0.
The place was empty, Jocks were everywhere, rightly or wrongly, nobody seems to care.

Fully agree mate I went to that game and lack of Welsh support was poor beyond belief. We will have again a mass invasion of Scots prob 5,000 and it shows the passion they have in their blood for their national game. Granted the tartan army are their version of Welsh rugby and for many its a way of life , the dressing in Kilts, the piss up, the banter and why not !!! but sadly in Wales momentum had swung slightly with speed crowds marginally on the increase but the recent appoint of Coleman, the defeats again, stripping Ramsey of captaincy , has again been a kick in the teeth. Welsh international football may take years to recover and I am boycotting this game.

I cant with them clowns in charge
As soon as Coleman and Hartson are sacked, il decide to support them
Fri Oct 05, 2012 10:26 pm
I only just about manage to watch Wales due to the whole grandparents relation accepting some English players to play for us.. but most countrys do the same.
But an English born captain of Wales is just not real. I'm not going to any future Wales game until Coleman is gone and the captain is changed.

You don't support the manager....you support the players and YOUR COUNTRY. We must be one of the most unpatriotic countries in the whole f*cking world.

I will never watch Wales again until both Coleman & Hartson have gone.

Fk em, im embarresed by some parts the country we live in,
and also embarresed by the football that chris coleman is running.
As a whole wales is in large parts dosile and uncivilised we're fortunate to be from cardiff where life is pretty much as it should be in a civilised country and people have moral and commen sense.
but we still get tarred with the same brush for being welsh because of some minor parts that give us a bad image to the nation
