Cardiff City Vs Swansea Monday 8th Oct.

Fri Oct 05, 2012 11:21 am

FREE-AGENT Ibrahim Mansaray, a former midfield player with Danish club Brondby, is hoping to face Swansea City next Monday.

Sierra Leone-born Mansaray, 19, has been training with the Bluebirds and played in their Under-21 Development League match at Brentford.

He could be given a second outing against the ' Swans at Cardiff City Stadium next Monday (7pm). '

Defensive midfield player Mansaray is a free agent, having rejected a new contract with Brondby because he wanted to play in British football.
He can sign for another club outside the transfer window, but must first convince City manager Malky Mackay he is a player with Championship and potential Premier League promise.
Mansaray had been training with London club Peckham United to keep fit and decided to link up with Cardiff after receiving offers from several Football League clubs.
The clash with Swansea will also give French centre-forward Rudy Gestede the chance to continue his drive towards match fitness.
The 6ft 4ins Gestede has played two Development League matches, during the 2-0 win against Charlton and City’s 2-1 defeat at Brentford.
He came through an hour or more in both and will hope to complete the 90 minutes against Swansea City.
The match comes at the start of a two-week international break and Mackay is likely to give several first team squad members a run-out.
Teams can include three over-age outfield players in an Under-21 Development League squad plus an over-age goalkeeper.
Gestede, keeper Joe Lewis, Craig Conway and Stephen McPhail are among those who could be considered for the clash with Swansea.
7pm kick off.

You could pop down to Llandarcy on the A465 tomorrow and watch the u18s against Swansea (11 o'clock kick-off) then go to Neath Food And Drink Festival in the afternoon before you go back home.

Fair enough. Some good drinks stalls there. Tomos Watkin, Neath Ales, Gwynt Y Ddraig and others.
