As long as he is contributing to the team it doesn't matter who scorers the goals.
Didn't he get an assist Tuesday?

Only one team in the top half of the table have scored more goals than us so the system seems to be working.

What's that?

WE HAVE WON 5 OUT OF THE LAST 6 GAMES!!!!!!

W6 D1 L2 for the season...

Carry on with that kind of form and we'll be
promoted by christmas. Helguson has played every game I think??

How on earth can anyone say he's not good enough?

Charlie Austin has scored nearly ALL Burnleys goals this season. Great stuff, but they
are leaking goals like a sieve. What happens when Austin gets injured or suspended
or loses form.?????

Helguson is working his socks off up top. Battling the opposition Centre-Halfs, running the
channels, dropping, dragging defenders out and MAKING SPACE for others.

We have got 9 different goalscorers in 9 games. Helguson is playing an unselfish team game
and is running his bollocks off. No personal reward, only one goal under his belt. The bloke
is playing very well.

Erm...... this is claptrap. Only Blackpool in the top ten have scored more goals than
us. How many more goals do we need to go top of the league?

Oh, hang on :?

How do you judge whether a striker is good enough or not?...........simple,you judge him by how many goals he scores by the end of the season, forget this"look how many goals he makes for others nonsense"thats not his primary function, there should be other players in the team to fulfill that role,no his primary function is to score goals, just like a central defender's function is to defend

Did anyone else moan when it was Tommo or Alan Lee or Peter Thorne who played this role as the target man? They were never big goal scorers

Re: Helguson not good enough

He is not in the team to get 20 a season, hes in to create chances, and because he does his off the ball creating space and dragging players out of position our fans dont understand it and slate him! The man is top class for this league in what he does. Do we love to have a scapegoat? just love a moan? or have some thick fans?

Very uneducated answers on here.

There are plenty of wingers with a pretty shit goals per game average.

Their job is to supply chances for the strikers, nobody gets on their back as
long as they are doing their job.. and supplying chances.

Its perfectly obvious that Helguson has not been told to 'get in that box' by Malky

Disrupt, create space, open the channels, tie up defenders, close them down, be
a nuisance.

Hudsons goal was PURELY because of helgusons dogged determination to get to
that ball and stop them clearing it.

Some of you being silly here

Good post taff, the voice of reason, we do love a scapegoat on here, it's bad enough coming on here after a loss but there seems to be numerous moaning threads after wins now also, you couldn't make it up.

He is shit so i agree with the OP opinion, seen many a striker hold the ball up and pass it off like he does tbh :ayatollah:

Not at all.

Poor Kenny Miller ploughed a lone field up there for months

Helguson has some of the fastest, most skilful and direct players in the division up
there with him now

Re: Helguson not good enough

Load of rubbish. Helguson was excellent last game.

Re: Helguson not good enough

Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:45 pm

First half, mason thrashed at least 2 balls across the face of goal, any half decent striker would have been in there and got something on it, MALKY said we should have been well ahead before they got back into the game, and then piled the pressure on us at the end. If the lead booted donkey wasn't so slow to react to the great balls being whipped in then we would have scored at least 5. Maynard would prob have had a hat trick.

People who think he's 'doing his bit for the team' are just blinded by the results at the mo, we need to get a striker in on loan or give eti a run in the team instead.

These threads make me laugh.. we went 2 months unbeaten and everyone was demanding Conway to be dropped.

What's that got to do with lead boots being incompetent up front for us? The guy can't even get to 5 yard pass...

Re: Helguson not good enough

Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:57 pm

Its a team effort and we are winning games.. youngsters also benefit from his experience also.

I can assure you a lot of defenders dont like playing against him.. pretty sure a Blackpool defender said in their local paper it was a tough game and Helguson was contributing a lot.

Re: Helguson not good enough

Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:00 pm

Helguson is like a battering ram. Does so much for other players. Is a shame he isn't taller as he would be a class player if so.

His hard work leaves space for other players to work their magic.

Re: Helguson not good enough

Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:06 pm

People dont understand how players like Helguson actually offer a lot.. most fans wank over the ability and pace like Maynard.
