I think the shocking atmosphere at CCS

Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:47 pm

is driving more supporters away than the re-branding. A lot of lads I spoke to last year in the ground were all pretty ambivalent about actually going to games over the last couple of years and their main reason was that they thought that the atmosphere was dire leading to them not really having that much of a craik anymore. Many will argue that the football has been the best ever, and it has, yet I think that is only part of the enjoyment of going to games. Guys like to let off steam, feel the camaderie from other mates and fellow fans. I know its been done to death, however the solution is simple switch the ends, get an atmosphere going between the Ninian and Grange end and the whole experience would be enhanced, even to the points of getting the 2000 missing supporters excited again and back on side. :ayatollah:

We need standing terraces.

If we stay top of the league for atleast a few weeks then the crowds will start coming in and the atmosphere will get better. If you went to the Leeds and Wolves games then you'd know that we can create a decent atmosphere.

If the ends could be swapped, it would go a VERY long way to improving atmosphere. The Grange end/end of Ninian stand on either side of the away supporters would really get the fans going and it would give that 'intimidatory' factor again. However it won't happen any time in the near future unfortunately :(
What could happen though is safe standing. Thousands of people have signed an online petition to get it back, and now with the Hillsborough report proving that it wasn't the fans fault, it may get given the go ahead. After all it works in Germany with no trouble.
Hopefefully we get safe standing, but we still need to make noise ourselves. At times against Blackpool the ground was rocking (seemed like it from where I was anyway) so there's no reason why we can't make it like that all the time, especially as we're playing exciting football and top of the league :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Why im moving to Germany after university mate.

Cheaper tickets, standing, fans are mental, like the old days in Ninian Park. I'll obviously follow and support Cardiff online and on TV but the CCS is so boring these days. You cant even shout anymore at times because some of the people around you give you a dirty look.

That surely can't be the main reason you are moving to Germany.

Not sure its just down to ends and being next to away fans. Wales v belgium, canton end was crackin atmosphere. Atmosphere not good because fans cant be arsed. In my opinion. Dont get me wrong - grange end was great in its,day !

Fully agree mate. Yes its entertaining now, but you can be entertained at the cinema, or have a bar meal in your local, play on your PS3 whatever it is people are doing. Fans always went to the football knowing it was entertainment but.....it was different you had the "edge" the banter the songs the crowd surges etc etc etc. For many of that era its gone and people are questioning do they want to spend £20 etc on a ticket to watch a game in a quiet stadium when they could be doing other things. Swap the ends mind and happy days :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
