Consolidating our top place.

Wed Oct 03, 2012 11:14 am

We can consolidate our top place at Ipswich on Saturday and even stay there, we have the quality and strength in depth to achieve this, also confidence is high and records are being broken, it seems seems this is our season and we have a squad of players to be proud of. Exciting times, and you can sence the excitement in the stadium, more records will tumble and lets enjoy the ride. :ayatollah:

I'm a pessimist, generally, when it comes to CCFC, so I can't be as positive as you, plus it's only the 3rd of October.

I'm not knocking you for being optimistic, but after last night's euphoria, I feel we need to keep calm and not get too carried away. I was chuffed we got the 3 points last night and the train journey home was a happy one with a great buzz amongst the fans. There's such a long way to go yet, though and the dreaded international break looms......

International break traditionally doesn't seem to help us.
But this time I think we have less internationals ??? and a bigger squad so hopefully less disruption and more rest for the players.
Those with minor injuries can get a rest: Turner, Smith and Mutch so hopefully back to full strength in 2 weeks.

Who will be away apart from, Bellamy? Gunnarsson, Kiss, Marshall (do goalies count as needing a rest), Kimbo?

The only really important one is Bellamy, as Gunnarsson and kiss can be covered by Mutch, Kimbo is only a 10 minute a game player at present.

Yes I know it`s early days yet and a long season ahead of us, and we have failed at the last hurdle and all of us have been hurt by building our hopes up too soon, but in my opinion this squad is the best for years. Yes I do feel optimistic, I think we will be top two or even Champions. but neither do I knock you for being too pesimistic, as I can understand how you would feel like that. There is no team we should be afraid of with the quality we have right through our squad.
