TEAM v BIRMINGHAM?

Mon Oct 01, 2012 8:34 am

So, it looks like Tommy Smith will miss the game through injury and Mutch wont be ready till at least Saturday.

What will Malky do? I'm thinking he'll start Cowie over Kim Bo Kyung on the right and keep the rest the same as Saturday.

There'll be space on the bench so we could see someone like Conway in the squad.

What does everyone think?

Should be a tight game :ayatollah:

i cant see bellamy starting again, i think mason will come in for him.

Agree that i think he will start with Cowie on the right, but i hope he doesnt.

Think it may be a little tough for Helguson to perform twice in the space of a few days.

I expect Malky will bring in Mason and play him up front with Bellamy, before bringing Cowie in for Smith.

I would personally like to see Conway starting. Kim doesn't look ready yet and needs to be gently introduced until he gets used to the pace and physical demands of the Championship. Conway has had an excellent pre season and impressed for the development team recently. He has done nothing wrong to be dropped and is in form, so why not?

I'd also like to see Conway involved :ayatollah:

At the moment though it looks like he's behind Don Cowie and Kim Bo Kyung in the pecking order.

I think he might get on the bench though...

out of interest, what is Kim's strongest position? could he "do a job" out wide right, or is he better through the middle?

Supposedly he can play anywhere across midfield but whenever I've seen him play for Korea (or even when he's got on for us) it's always been wide right.

I'd swap Bellamy and Mason because Bellamy is more of a threat out wide than Mason....and Mason is a good striker. :ayatollah:

That's what I'd go with, don't think Malky will though

I would have agreed with you before the Blackpool game. But after the Blackpool game I have come to the conclusion that Bellamy is wasted out wide and he isn't great at tracking back defensively. Up front, Bellamy is more involved and has more freedom to roam wherever he pleases to terrorise them.

I think thats exactly the team malky will put out, cowies not a wide man for me and helguson could be marked out of the game by birmingham who have very good centre backs
