Agree with you dont rate him at all as a manager so glad we didn't get him in the end.

How can people say they don't rate him as a manager?
8 games in charge of a Newcastle side that were already doomed and the Club was in a right mess.
How can you possibly say you don't rate him as a manager based solely on that?

Newcastle Utd was dead in the water when Shearer took over.
He took over from a manger that many Cardiff fans wanted.
But not a chance he takes the Blackburn job.

Exactly mate, and he was there for 8 games and hasn't managed since, how on earth
that is enough for people to say they don't rate him as a manager is beyond me.

Probably because he was there for 8 GAMES AND HASN"T MANAGED SINCE??
How could you possibly rate him?
Do you rate him?
Would you have him at City?

He has had offers.
He was our 1st choice......
I guess the powers that be at Cardiff rate him.

Great players dont make good managers necessarily - so glad we did not get him

He can't be rated because he's unproven. I doubt the Rovers job will be the right start for his managerial career.
Start low and build up seems the best bet. At least I won't have to put up with his "state the obvious" punditry on a saturday night now. Get Harry Back on MOTD!!

Be interesting to see how he gets on, he had no chance at Newcastle.
One thing, out of all the pundits, at least he has the balls to give it a go. (Lawrenson, Hansen...I'm looking at you.)

Why anyone would want to work under that little hilter who went public slagging off keane and players along with them turban wearing chicken breeders i never know, i doubt shearer would want to work under them tbh

So what are you saying? 8 games as a caretaker of a doomed club in dissaray is enough for people to make
comments such as 'I dont rate Shearer as a manager'.
Do I rate him? How could I? You may aswell ask me if I rate Stephen McPhail as a Manager. Its impossible to say.
Would I have him at City? Possibly, everyone has to start somewhere, could turn out to be brilliant, could turn out
to be shit, but at the moment nobody knows as he hasn't been a Manager long enough to be RATED.
Absolutely ridiculous for anyone to say they don't rate Shearer as a Manager.

Am I right in saying that Shearer turned us down due to the Malaysians wish to bring Craig Bellamy back to the club?
The pair have history and Shearer is certainly not his biggest mate.

I completely agree, I just don't think that Rovers are a good starting point for him

Who knows.
One thing we do know is Shearer turned us down although being the media politican he is he said he was impressed with the future plans of the club. Thinly vealed he got the impression something was going to happen big but he was not comfortable with it. Makes you wonder if he knew something well before all of us.
Mon Oct 01, 2012 11:22 am
But we didn't sign Bellers that season.
Maybe Shearer doesn't really want to be a manger?
Great player in his prime.
150% sure that he won't take the Blackburn with their current owners.
