Someone, who's name escapes me,posted on here recently, that it was not the managers fault for a bad result, but the players he sent out on to pitch who were culpable, well i have to beg to differ, and i will use yesterday's game against Blackpool to illustrate my point, now as i understood it to be the case, Ian Holloway made 7 changes to the team that lost last time out,so i suggest to you that Blackpool were a beaten side before a ball was kicked yesterday, now some of those changes could have been forced on Holloway through injury, but most i would say were tactical, now you don't come to place like the Cardiff City Stadium and play a home team who are almost invincible at home with a team so badly disrupted and hope to get anything out the game,so i would suggest that Blackpool's defeat can be laid firmly at the doorstep of their manager, saying that, the Redbirds played superbly and got their tactics and team selection spot on,which of course comes down to Mackay learning from his mistakes he made at Palace, now of course the player's must take their fair share of the blame for a bad result, but at the end of the day,the Manager will stand or fall by his decision making,so i have to congratulate Mackay for learning from his past mistakes, the trick of course is not to make to many in the first place

Agreed. 4-4-2 is more suited, I think, to a team like ours, which possesses so many skilful footballers. 4-5-1 is generally a lower league hoofball set up - or the Wales national team.
After that 2nd half collapse against Palace, I was really pleased that every player and the manager decided to make amends. I don't know how many players Blackpool were missing but they certainly had a number of their top players there yesterday, so it didn't seem like we were playing an under strength side. They just met us on a good day and we won well.
Brum bounced back from their trouncing at home to Barnsley by beating Brighton away, so Tuesday has the makings of a tough, competitive match. Get yourself a ticket, if you haven't already.

Funny you should say that, because I won the raffle in the pub on Saturday. The choice was match tickets for the Brum game, or cash and I opted for cash, because I've got a season ticket.
Never mind, OAP, perhaps I'll treat you another time.
