Dekel Keinan returns to Israel after Cardiff City release
Dekel Keinan has returned to first club Maccabi Haifa in Israel after being released by Cardiff City.
The 28-year-old defender has signed a deal until the end of the season.
He becomes the second Cardiff City to join a club in Israel's Premier League after Robert Earnshaw joined Maccabi Tel Aviv on a season-long loan.
Israel international Keinan played only once for Cardiff this season, taking his total appearances to 25 since joining from Blackpool in January 2011.
He spent periods on loan at Crystal Palace and Bristol City last season.
On his departure, Keinan thanked Cardiff supporters on his Twitter account, saying: "Really appreciate all your support and I'll never forget it.
"I gave everything and I'm leaving with my head up!"
After graduating through Maccabi Haifa's youth system, he made his first-team debut in 2002 and went on to make almost 100 league appearances before moving on a free transfer to Blackpool in 2010.

A true professional who has always given his best in training and during matches.
I have the greatest respect for the man as he has agreed to cancel his contract, and remember this contract was negotiated by our last manager, because he would rather play football than ride the gravy train at Cardiff City.
Good luck in the future Dekel and thanks for everything you did whilst at our club.

Agreed

I always rated him above Gerrard but just lacked that bit of pace which meant he couldn't play alongside Hudson.
He certainly handled himself very well and everyone I know who has met him says what a great bloke he is. Refreshing in this day and age, good luck Dekel

I agree as I always rated Dekel Keinan to and fair play he would also chip in with a goal or two as well.

Agree with this. I thought he was decent enough to have been given much more of a run out. Obviously Malky saw something in training that we didn't. Has a stinker against Reading in the play off but who didnt.

Dissapointed to see him going but he wants to play Football.. he stuck it out and kept trying under a new manager but hes worked hard but with Hudson and Turner.. its tough espically with Connolly and Nugent who looks a talent
