Yes it is. However, at least it is fixable nowadays, even if it takes till next season. He will still be oung enough to make an impact when its fixed - hopefully in the Premier League!

Didn't an injury like this end Nigel Rees' career back in the 70s?

Also, the club and team can make plans for being without him, bringing in loans if necessary. None of the will he/ won't he be back problem.

Absolutely gutted, it definitely does hamper our automatic chances, I'm guessing we'll be seeing more of Bellamy, I really hope Velikonja steps up to the plate

devasted as he was proven at this level and i was really excited by this signing, i think velikonja is going to take a while to get used to the pace and physical nature of the championship. i expect we will see a bit more of mason and i hope he can up his game and become the player we all hope he can!

I think we should presume he is out for the season and anything earlier will be a bonus.

I've been researching this injury online and the absolute earliest anyone's fully recovered from this after surgery is 6 months. But it's very likely nicky will miss the rest of the season.
