Craig Noone

'Born in Kirkby, he was signed as a school boy by Liverpool, but was released aged 11.'

A winger with pace, trickery and directness and who likes to shoot.

YET THEY SPEND £20M ON DOWNING.

You will always get some that get released. Neil Taylor was originally with Man City before he went to Wrexham. Im pretty sure Bale got rejected by the city because he was too small but Im not sure how true that is

The difference is, Liverpool FC are and have been for a long time a world wide known club with massive backing and people banging on about Melwood etc.

Our scouting system is minimal in comparison, even smaller at the time Bale was just about to break onto the scene.

Not to mention Southampton had been watching Bale since he was 9 years old. :ayatollah:

I get your point as well and he shouldn't have slipped through but the power/money we had was nothing in comparison. He still might have went to Southampton anyway if they made promises of extra money and other incentives.

Liverpool had Noone and Ince on their books and let them go. Both to me seem like the players with the most flair in this division so far this season. Early days, yes I agree but there is no doubt they are both natural talents. :ayatollah:

You say that, but Liverpool have managed to bring young Raheem Sterling into their academy from QPR, and look at him now - starting in the Premier League.

Him and Allen were the only good aspects of Liverpool's game against Arsenal.

True I suppose. Maybe them looking too far away from Liverpool has led to them looking beyond a few gems closer to LIverpool and in and around the area. :ayatollah:

Who says noone will be prem class? Its nothing to do with scouts. Scouts recommend a lot of players with potential at a young age8-16 say. You could also get yourself a trial at a club if you mass canvass clubs at a young age and have a footballing background of some sort of decent level. He might have matured late, might not have had the confidence on the pitch or training ground at Liverpool. Its a big ask for a kid to go to Liverpool at any age.

Also clubs miss players all the time, it's impossible to go and get every player in the age groups, as players develop at different rates. Go and look at England youth squads and see who made it in the past. Many don't make it to the very top, even though they are some of the very best at that age.

And with regards to bale, nobody could know bale would have become the player he did, southampton have taken a good few players from cardiffs youth set up, most never made it, but arron Davies who played for Yeovil was taken as a 15 yr old from Cardiff and was in the saints squad when they made the FA cup final.

Just think that joe Ledley very nearly didn't get a yts at the club, he developed late.

Noone is already better than Downing. Whittingham is better than a lot of Premiership players. I can say that with utmost certainty.

How? They are untested! Witts had a spell as a youngster and had to drop down.

Noone hasnt come close to a season in the prem. dont go spouting cup games.

When Noone has some england caps, or has been in a few england squads then come and tell me hes better than downing. But regardless of downings form at the moment dont spout that noone is better as hes done nothing yet. I hope he goes on to be a huge player, but he hasnt done it yet.

There is enough to show Noone could cope in the Premiership easily already. Also, England caps mean jack shit. Downing should have never gotten in the England team anyway. I can name 7 English wingers better than him now. Sterling weren't around at the time but there is still 6. Downing has never deserved a call up. Overrated garbage.

Ashley Young, Theo Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain, Tom Ince, Raheem Sterling, Adam Johnson, Aaron Lennon.

Downing is a terrible winger.

Just over 1 in 6 for Villa. Did nothing in his first season at Liverpool. Has no flair, rarely runs at a defender. He had a couple of decent games last year, one happened to be against us. Around 35 caps for England I believe and has done nothing at all for them either.

He's your typical overrated British player.

Despite being the biggest c**t, sad act, wanker, deluded, cocky, bucktoothed, nerdy little shit on this board this is the greatest thing I have read on this site.

Many Cardiff born players have slipped through the net, the worst one being Bale but Bellamy is a great example too, he went to Bristol f*cking Rovers before heading all the way to Norwich.

...not sure their scouts had much to do with Noone getting bombed out??

That said, the serie a scout with the large cranium has a point about downing. An utter shambles of a winger. Now they're converting him to left back, lol! A 20 mill left back  Liverpool are a right mess at the moMent.

And herein lies your problem. you are an arrogant student who thinks he knows it all because
he reads about it in a book.

Steve Heighway is the Director of Liverpool Academy. He had long chats with Noone before Craig
left Liverpool, because he rated him. But did not think he was capable of making the step up
from YOUTH team football. He was 15 when he left there.

But you read somewhere that he was 11

and because you read it - it must be true

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! - Surely the old bearded professors must have told you that????

So Craig Noone is ready for premiership football right now is he????

Pray tell on what you base that statement???

Please God dont say its on one Cardiff City game you watched on the computer??
