Will our new signings take the pressure of bellamy?

Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:33 am

The expectations of bellamy during the huddersfield game were huge and we all expected miracles from our hero, now since that game we have brought in the likes of maynard, smith, noone, kimbo etc... whitts played more forward and how effective was that?

so will this take the pressure off bellamy? i believe it will as on sunday we had danger all over the field!

huddersfield chucked 2 players on bellers all game, but theres no way any team could now do that, as that would leave too much space for say noone etc..

i really do believe this squad is unbelievably talented in all areas even on the bench in depth.. bellamy wont play every game of course, which is great as we can bring in kimbo or smith etc. who can still be as effective in that area. if we need to stiffen up the midfield abit weve got gunnarsson and co. who can come in and do that. some games will work with 4-4-2 as sunday, others wont, but malky has the players to mix things up to suit the team we are lining up against..

role on the next game, because i cant bloody wait! 10 sleeps to go! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Totally agree, we have to much danger in the team put two players on either noone or bellers and its gunna free up space for either one, then you got whitts and even maynar to contend with goodluck defenders :ayatollah:

your right, we have lots of players now who can cause problems, a yard or 2 of space for any player would be a worry for any set of defenders.

im also thinking this could bring the best out of bellamy, plus the pace on the break is going to be frightening with maynard, noone and bellamy charging forward!

And Whitts huffing and puffing to keep up ten yards further back

Totally agree with this :ayatollah:

There's likely to be less pressure on Whittingham I might add. He was expected to perform miracles in a weak midfield last season.

Good positive post and totally agree, bellers will still be one of our star players without a doubt, but if teams focus too much on just him like him as you say it'll allow many of our other danger men to wreck havoc :ayatollah:

i also feel it will take a bit of weight of bellers shoulders, in the huddersfield game i was looking at him to do something everytime he touched the ball... as i couldnt see where else we were going to break forward from.

now its different, we have danger across all areas, bellers will also see better ball rather than long balls over his head. and as said, too much focus on bellamy and the others will be there to capitalise. :ayatollah:

I love the signing of Noone, I really do.

It means Bellamy can be put up front more often if we need to do so. Imagine being able to take off Maynard and bringing on Bellamy :o Defenders nightmare. They wouldn't get a minutes rest. Personally I would go with a 4-4-2 with Bellamy and Maynard up tops and then Noone and Smith on the wings with Mutch and Whitts in the middle. :ayatollah:

So so many options.

Bellamy upfront

Or Noone and Bellamy wide would frighten any team.

Whitts deserves a stand named after him IMO , he could have left us at any point but his loyalty is exceptional.
