Even more Welsh

Tue Sep 04, 2012 11:00 am

Good to see whats happenin with City, however. Welsh spirit needs to be created more:

- Welsh ales, lagers and ciders in the bars within the ground.

- More Welsh music being played.

- More welsh anthems being chanted.

- Better scouting within Wales ( And I do mean in Cardiff, wouldnt hurt for a born and bred Cardiff lad to lead the attack).

- Welsh players eg. - get Adam Matthews back.

- Welsh objects around pitch, artificial daffodils etc..makes a difference, it would create something new that no other club
would have. Plus it would make our pitch look unique and fresh.

Basically I would just like to see the Welsh culture imporved, in our club and country. Im sure I am not the only one. Its no dig in any way towards any one..just a thought I had. I would defo love to see more Welsh players at the club, actually being played too not just bought and put in a development squad. I hate it wen we see youngsters being signed from England when theres someone in the streets of Wales equally as good if not better.

If improvements were made within the stadium, and most things were to do with Wales the away fans would feel like they are actually in Wales instead of coming to a club where most things arent welsh, main stake holders, manager, most players. They could also be drinkin a Welsh beer that they luv and look forward to over here for as part of the day for example. I just hope the Welsh football pyramid system somehow develops amazingly and Wales gets looked upon as a more footballing danger.

The overall investment is good from them, but your right its all Malaysia. Do you know if the Welsh flag is even on the red kit?

Its not as it was asked to be removed by the football league from last season

Pffffffftt, takes the mick that does. Even tho we are the the capital too, dont see what the problem is to be honest. We had the flag on the tops all that time and now they decide to be bitches

Anything else? Maybe wooden love spoons provided at the food outlets to eat your laver bread with? :?

No offense mate but the thought of much of this stuff makes me cringe and conjures up images of people dressed as leeks at the egg chasing. For me CCFC was always about Cardiff and not some sort of Wales FC. Before you know it people might even be suggesting we play in red...

I cant remember the full reason but the FL werent happy with national badges on kits and to be honest we were the only ones. I dont get why they dont like it though

Yeaa guna have to bare the spoons in mind, I didnt mean people dressing up as leeks as I know they like to do that with the rugby. The narrow mind of just thinkin of Cardiff won't see the international team improve, things will carry on the same and talks would be about certain individuals time and time again (Bale, Rambo etc)

If the talent is there for the rugby then its certainly there for the football, we could be in the top ten world rankings for the football aswell as rugby. I just want to see my counrty do well aswell as my club

Sorry but I don't want to see that sort of stuff at our ground - far to egg for my liking. And our national football side will never improve until the powers that be ALLOW kids to play football ahead of rugby in school - that is the real reason we only ever get the odd good player come through.

Lol I was bein sarcastic about the spoons,
Thats a good point you made there by the way. I do believe thats a part of it.

Im Welsh as f**k me like :D

But dont see the need to glorify our Country down the City.

Any more than English Clubs would have statues of Boadiciea or
Morris Dancers leading the teams onto the pitch

Football is City not Country

I am 110% totally behind this! I would love to see the Welsh culture improved and revitalised!

I hate the fact that I don't speak Welsh, and that only 1 of my friends is a fluent Welsh speaker.
We have so much to be proud of, we should be flying the flag high and showing people what we have to offer that is unique to our little country!

Music, Food, Literature, Sport, Sights - we have so much, and instead of integrating with the UK, lets get some distance and some individuality!

Agree with the Apple on this one. If you want to sing Welsh songs and revel in the Welsh culture there is a team called Wales you can follow. Cardiff is a city, THE city. I would rather hear Frank Hennessy and Shirley Bassey than some fat referee fondling egger wax lyrical about the Pontypool front row.

Rugby has its leeks and daffodils, we have our little pick and shovel.

Agree with some of it, though the day I see someone down the CCS with a daffodil hat on, will be a very sad day indeed. I think when away fans sing 'god save liz' (or whatever the song is) we should drown them out with 'Wales, Wales' chants. The only time i've ever heard a 'Wales' chant at a game was Blackburn last season. I thought it was very effective!

The Wales chant at international games is horrific! Sounds like a f*cking yawn!!

I agree, we must not forget we are Welsh, we must also support Welsh businesses .

The rebrand has brought more Welsh "culture" to Cardiff, nothing represents Cardiff other than name and bluebird. The only thing that seems to be getting more publicity is Malaysia. Malaysia flags, Malaysia on the shirt. Dragons. Red.
