Bluebirds in Germany/ Europe

Mon Sep 03, 2012 2:09 pm

Im from Pontypridd but ive been in Germany for the last 16 years or so.
I was just wondering if there are anymore Bluebirds living in or from Germany?
All my German mates surely know about the Bluebirds as ive been spreading the word, some i would even call fans as they always know our results. :P
Still cant get used to red im afraid

Hi Cocker,
i live in Helmstedt, its a small town next to the A2. It was the old east/west border. Its only a 30 minute drive to Wolfsburg and ive had a season ticket for the last 15 years or so. Drove to Bielefeld for a Friday night away game about 10 years ago, ended 0-0. Good laugh though. My wife and kids are German too and my boys go to football traing with city Jerseys (blue ones of course). Ive taken a Wales flag to Wolfsburg games (Portsmouth for example) but a city flag is just to much blue and yellow for Wolfsburg, looks like a Braunschweig flag :( Wont be tolerated.

Loved Lemgo, lived in Vogelsang back in the 80's (military quarters) just outside the old camp entrance.
Often found singing in Mittle Strasse at 2am if not on military exercise. :D

Used to do our Summer training in Vogelsang (Ex Hitler youth training camp) and got some great memories of it, although I found the confidence training, where they drove an old tank over you quite disconcerting at first! :)

I remember the officer who used to take the confidence training was a Belgian Army Major, who also taught us how to make Molotov cocktails!

Lovely area near The Nurburgring and I used to like having the odd sherbet in the beautiful town of Monschau! :ayatollah:

Hi guys Danishblue here
We are 3 S Wallians living around the Aarhus area of Denmark, theres also 1 I know living in
Copenhagen area. Plus a good number of Danes follow Cardiff's results due to continual
brainwashing by us. Also a good number in Norway and Sweden and should imagine we are
getting bigger and bigger in Iceland, so I actually think after the BDU
Scandinavia has the biggest following of Cardiff outside the UK. Home for Leeds and Millwall so I
cant wait
Bluebirds/Redbirds whatever we are all Cardiff at heart!!!!

Hi Danishblue,

only a 5.5h drive from my house, closer than Munich
Well into my brainwashing, some people are so easy too.
i was in Prague 2 years ago and some Czech heard my accent and started going on about the Bluebirds, how hes been a fan for years but never been there. I was gobsmacked as he knew everything. He said its because we are Welsh and play in the English system which makes us interesting. Also because we are the Capitol and not a village.
