Now, this is going to divide opinion but I actually feel we are better without Bellamy.
I am a big Bellamy fan and feel that he's a class player but we are definitely much more effective without him playing in my opinion. When he plays, the opposition mark him out of the game which puts pressure on the other 10 lads to do something. Where as today Noone was a relative unknown quantity to Wolves and he ran the show down that flank.
Maybe this is why Bellamy is so good at the top flight and not as effective in the Championship because in the Premiership he doesn't receive the 'special treatment' by the opposition that he does down in the Championship?
Be interested to hear your opinions but right now I wouldn't have Bellamy starting.

thing is, if you have Bellamy on one wing, and Noone on the other, you will stretch the way opposing teams defend, as both are so dangerous. They dont even have to do much, but it can create space for other people.

No predicament in my opinion as I expect Bellamy to play upfront with Maynard. We now have loads of quality in the midfield area so for me expect Craig in a more forward position.
Maynard and Bellamy exciting or what.

So you would bring Bellamy right back into the starting XI? Interesting view and I see what you mean. Which wing would you play them on? Keep Noone on the left and put Bellamy on the right?

nope, i would keep the same starting xi for the next match, cant really justify dropping smith he was superb. i see no reason Bellamy cant play on the right personally. its such a long season we are going to need the squad. Helguson for example, has played too many minutes for my liking, hes started all 6 games i think? and he looked shattered yesterday.
anyway, back to bellamy, he will cause problems in this team, and the players around him are better than when he was here last time imo

good point if our wingers play like that over next few weeks kim and bellamy wont get in the side i thought they were both outstanding yesterday expecially tracking back and helping the full backs
Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:31 am
Bellamy is going to play up front with Maynard, the rest of the team can stay as they are, with Kimbo to come in if Mutch does not keep up the standards he has set, which is brilliant

Helguson wont be a regular starter. Hes 35 and was very tired after an hour yesterday. I expect to see Noone and Smith on either wing and Bellers up top with Maynard. Centre halves will have a torrid time, they will shit themselves cos of Bells pace, then u add Maynards monement and hes no slouch! Then u have the mids of opposition helping their centre halves double up on bells leaving whitts room further upfield....Add Noone's pace and the centre half wont know whether to go with Bells, track Maynard, help his full back deal with Noone.
Its all about creating space and pace terrifies defences into doing the wrong thing.

As far as I am concerned Noone has the shirt and Bellers will have to wait his chance. The thought of a Maynard/Bellamy partnership up front is very appetising and I agree with the other posters that this is what will happen.

Bellamy won't be able to play a full season anyway! Probably only ones every 2 games through injurys etc! I will admit, I wasn't fussed on him coming back to us because I didn't think we would end up with a squad as strong as we have. I didn't think we would be able to risk having him back because of his injury problems. But now I've seen just how strong our squad is, and the fact that we can now afford to rest him through the season, I'm now really happy we got him. Top player to have in a squad where you can afford to rest him. Not an ideal addition in a small squad where you would have to rely on him to play most games.

I agree 100% ..... Bellers in for Smith would give the opposition an absolute nightmare to defend against

We had a surprise element yesterday, Wolves didn't know what to expect and that can continue. Warnock won't know if they will be facing Helgerson, Bellamy, Smith, Kimbo, Mason, Whittingham, Maynard, Gestede or Noone, we are a nightmare to prepare against !!!!
I think the Midfield keeps the shirt, and I am not sure if Bellers and Maynard will work as well as Helgerson and Maynard, so I think he may have to start on the bench, that would be mad if it happens wouldn't it !!!

craig bellamy and craig noone outwide could quite possibly tear a new arsehole in this league! get a grip. i like tommy smith been very consistant at watford , pompey and qpr. but he aint craig bellamy!!

I'd only play Bellamy up front now, Bellamy leaves the full back in wilderness, Smith doesn't adventure as much, helps the defender more, even Noone did! I think Bellamy would be most effective up front, that's not saying he should be chucked in straight away, he'll have to impress Malky in training but I'd like to see the same team starting against Leeds
