i thought Mcnaughton looked back to his old self today. was really good too see, and hopefully the last few games have only been a blip for him

impressive debuts for both noone and maynard, and with this set up, we are going to score bags of goals this season, but i do fear we will let a few in at the other end. too early to judge connelly yet i feel after only two games, but Taylor, for me, has had a really poor start to the season.


Anyways, great result against a good side (thought their numbers 7 and 10 were excellent today) and hopefully onwards and upwards from here

Thought we played very well today, plenty of pace and lots of direct players, plenty of players who could run with the ball and we fully deserved all three points and unlucky not to get a few more goals.

Marshall 6 – Felt he should have done better with the free kick but little else to do
Kev 8 – Thought it was his best game for a long long time. Linked up with Smith very well, got up and done and used the ball pretty well. He covered Hudson and Connelly a number of times.
Hudson 7 – usual self again, strong in the air and kept everything together at the back.
Connelly 7 –Much better than against Bristol, strong in the air and used the ball well.
Taylor 6 – Got caught a few times but linked up well with Noone

Noone 8 – Excellent, full of running, so direct and always looked a danger, a joy to watch.
Witts 9 – He does what he wants
Mutch 7 – Worked hard and did well.
Smith 8 – Impressed me at Bristol and even more so today, worked hard, good passer and quite direct.
Helguson 6 – Worked hard but not a lot seem to happen for him.
Maynard 7 – Full of running and always looked a danger.

Gunnarrson – Gave us some fresh legs in the middle, usual job
Mason – Looked very lethargic, hardly broke a sweat. Despite him only being on for just over 20mins it was still Helguson doing all the running and closing down
Cowie – tightened things up a little. Ideal for that situation.
The ref – Not even he could miss the obvious pen we had but the rest of the time he was so inconsistent. The linesman on the side of the bob bank had no idea what was happening most the time.

McNaughton thrives off the pacey winger in front of him.

Marshall 7 unlucky with the wolves goal which in all fairness was a brilliant goal one out the Whitts book of how to score a screamer.
Taylor 7 - put in a good shift looked reliable and got up and down the pitch all game hoofed into the stands when that option was required
Hudson 7 same old reliable Rock looks reassuring as ever
Connelly 8 -did you see his man marking on SEB nulified the Wolves dangerman on set pieces SEB was tearing his hair out by the end of the game
Mcnaughton 8 - best game in a while jut wish his final ball was better
Noone 9 on this form Bellers wont be missed if out injured terrified the Wolves defence
Mutch 8- decent game and getting better begininng to look the real deal
Whittenham 10- what can you say ,just signed an extension to his contract and looks like he means buissness this season simply awesome today
Smith 9 should why MM signed him showed guile and experience and got stuck in class preformance
Helguson 8-takes opposing players out of play by his positioning and general play a very clever player that gives an abundance of freedom to hie team mates by running the right channels and shows what a handful he can be if left unattended seems the fans have not quite taken to him yet .
Maynard 8-what a breath of fresh air looked dangerIOUS everytime he had the ball great signing MM he will slaughter lesser teams than a very good Wolves team
