Robert Earnshaw

Sun Sep 02, 2012 3:06 pm

I know I'll get slated for this, and be greeted with "past it" or "not good enough for us" but watching the first half made me think that he could easily get at least 10 goals this season if he's played instead of Helguson.

Helguson didn't really do much in the first half and I think now with pacey, skillful wingers, Earnie's knack if being in the right place could come in very handy if he plays up front working off Maynard and the wingers :ayatollah:

Even though i wouldnt play Helgusson from start think mason, smith, bellamy and etien would all come before earnie

I don't think earnie and Maynard would work.
And yeah earnie I'd past it.

I was sat by earnie today, was more interested in his phone than the game. Think he knows he's down the pecking order, deserves a loan move out of respect really.

Helgusson isn't there for his goal scoring, he's there to be a presence in the air and hold it up a little, we need a strong lad up top. Mason is an impact player for me, but would come on for Maynard or a winger

No it would never work. Helgusson is there for one thing to act as the target man which he does well. He had it tough today agains two tall lumps but he holds the ball up well for us. Maynard is the goalscorer

How many Championship clubs have come in for him????

I rest my case.

Not good enough for this division

Earnie to be fair would be good back up to Maynard. Earnie would fit in well in that set up :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Its sad to say but I think its time for Earnie to move on & get first team football...Helguson is supose to be great in the air? he did'nt win a header until the 70 min

There is a lot of clubs in the champioship would love to have Earnie.. his wages demand are a problem for other clubs

Sadly for Earnie it will take a shed load of injuries or suspensions for him to even make then bench. Maynard, Mason, Velikonja, Helguson, Bellamy, Smith and even Gestede are ahead of him.

If Earnie wants any football he needs to get his agent to arrange a loan until January and then a transfer during that window.

No way??

Can you see Earnshaw replacing Maynard? Dropping, peeling out wide, taking defenders
with him, cutting back in, linking with the midfield? Holding the ball up?... I can't.

Another thing Earnie has always failed to do is to read the game well. Noones run yesterday
from the edge of our box. Maynard did superbly to drag a defender out of the middle to
allow Noone space to get that shot in. Earnie would have run offside, or into Noone!!!

Just not good enough at this level. As I say. twenty odd managers cant be wrong
