Looking at the attendances in the Championship today, I think it is safe to say we will come in with, at least, the 2nd highest attendance in the League this weekend but with the current 'feel good factor' surrounding the club following our recent signings ,and even with the re-branding, fans should be turning up in large numbers to watch us against one of the early season favourites, Wolves.
I would imagine Wolves bringing around 1200-1500 down tomorrow, seeing that it is their first visit to the stadium, will there be more than 23,000 City fans there tomorrow ? I hope so.

These attendances look a bit on the low side. In League 1, did Sheffield United really get only 8k, or was it a mistake on the BBC?

Saw something on BBC a few days ago mentioning the different factors keeping people away from football. Such as strict stewarding, price, atmosphere and standing/sitting. Hopefully the FSF make a move on the FA to change the rules/prices etc.. That should get the attendances right back up, and see us in the 24/25,000 region regularly I hope

Derby 20k, Leicester and Forest under 20k, Brum 14k. Like I said, these are a bit on the low side.

why are we so obsessed with attendances at city? capacity is 27.5k 3k? away allocation! leaves 24k with segregation,
for home support, got 18k season tickets so only 6k on the day tickets, last week got 21k, and away fans 600? so 20.5k city fans there, not far from home capacity is it and will get better as we improve , way i see it is last season got average 23k which if you factor away fans in that means we were very close to capacity %wise for home suport

why ground appears empty only city know anser!

Sadly I can't make it tomorrow. Had hudds and wolves been on a saturday I would have been there. Fed up with fixture changes.

I love talking about ours and other clubs crowds, always have done.
By the way we are approx 26,680 capacity, with 2,100 approx for away fans.

thanks for that info, so 24.5k is home support mmmmmmmm as we get only several hundred away fans most time. it must mean we were getting close to capacity in home fans? despite ground looking less than figures announced!

I seem to remember that when Millwall played Leeds in a play off semi final few years ago they only had about 11,000 odd in.
However, few weeks later at Wembley they sold 44,000 tickets!!!! Loyal supporters

I remember going to Millwall on a Tuesday night and there was only 12k there!!
They had the fa cup final on the Saturday in Cardiff so that may IMF had something to do with it but there atmosphere was poor.

Did the attendance include Jessica Ennis, and her family, would we (Bluebirds fans) be happy to name a stand after Colin Jackson IF he won an Olympic gold, I would not be.

Millwall are a small club and proud, they do have a select support. It must be hard for them having massive clubs like Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham on their doorstep. Families make up a large part of smaller clubs support, Millwall do not have this due to their reputation so many go to the Valley or Palace.
On another note, what the f**k has happened to Hull City's support? It's been low for a long time now. Also Annis I too love looking at attendances at all levels of the game right down to non league football. Can't put my finger on why but like you I always have done.

Glad to hear that the Sheffield United attendance was, indeed, a misprint. The BBC, SKY, and several papers got it wrong, losing 10k in the process. Must have been embarrassing to the Blades.
Attendances are important. The numbers, and type, of support tell us everything about a club.
As for naming stands after people, read over the weekend that Jessica Ennis comes from a 'family of Blades fans'. Most Welsh celebs (though not all) are egg 'fans'. Just been looking at my ticket for the Millwall game; The Cold Blow Lane end, the dockers' stand, and The Barry Kitchener stand. Can't fault them. We've kept our names as well, The Canton, Grandstand, Ninian (or Bob Bank), and Grangetown end (or family stand).
