Have I missed anyone out? think I have mentioned everyone in the 1st team squad, correct me if i'm wrong.

Of the 28 players now in the squad, only 9 players survive from the era before Malky Mackay had arrived at the club!

This means that onto his second year MM has brought in 19 players! I don't know of any other occasion in football to be honest with you where a manager has managed to transform a whole squad in such a short space of time!

We can say that Malky has been backed financially, and now he needs to work hard to get all these players to gel together as quickly as possible! Even though it is a team that was put together in a very short space of time, He has brought in enough quality, youth and experience to create an expectation from fans than will put himself and his staff under pressure!

In other words, no matter what the squad is, or the starting 11 on the day, Malky Mackay HAS to deliver. Does he have a team, and a squad that can cope with the pressures of expectation, well I believe he does and I have never felt better going into a season, regardless of past results.

There's no denying, whether the Nicky Maynard deal gets tied up or not, THIS is the strongest squad we've ever had!

Its a strong side but with bringing in 9 players it will take time for them to gel.

No doubt it's a strong squad, can't quite get my head around our midfield and forward options. (18 players for midfield & striker)

Unfortunately, I can still see Malky playing a 4-5-1 with Helguson dropping to the bench.

yep, in 2010 he was still a youth player, debut came v Oxford in 1st round of cup on 10/8/2011 when Malky was in charge.

Even the likes of Marshall and Whittingham who have signed new contracts under Malky could be classed as his players

Very true, they are integral parts of Malky's teams. But no manager would come in and ship these players out. They are the heart and soul of the club, (well maybe not so much of Marshall) but you know what I mean. Malky has kept hold of what he believes to be important, quality players. The rest of them He signed or doesn't use!

Merlin, you;re right about this being the strongest squad in many a year, if ever, tactics and pressure are to me the only things that can stop us going up this season, the other thing malky must be appluded for is the way he has now brought in future revenew for the club, not that we have/want to sell, but if we have to we have a lot of young payers on long contracts.
