Nicky Maynard: Scored against Cardiff in the play-off semi-final but is now joining the Welsh side

Cardiff have agreed a fee with West Ham for the transfer of forward Nicky Maynard.

The 25-year-old only joined the Hammers in January and assistant boss Neil McDonald claimed the player was an 'important member of the squad' after he scored against Crewe in midweek.

But Sky Sports reported on Thursday morning that the former Bristol City man had emerged as a target for Cardiff as he is down the pecking order at Upton Park.

And the Bluebirds have successfully negotiated a deal with the Premier League side and Maynardcould complete a switch back to the Championship if he can agree terms and pass a medical.

Maynard scored three goals in 16 games for West Ham with the most memorable effort coming against Cardiff in the second leg of their play-off semi-final.

How much did you get for him? I would say he is in top 3 strikers in this division along with Chops and Beckford.

Joking aside the Bosman ruling has a lot to answer for. It is totally wrong that you lot paid Crewe a sizable fee for him, developed him further into a very good striker and then because his contract is near end you have to take a small fee for him.

IF we have got him for 2.5 million that's a great fee when you compare what Blackburn have paid for Rhodes who is unproven at Championship level. Just hope that we can agree terms and there's no problems with the medical so will wait for official confirmation before getting too excited.

However if we pull it off it will be a great signing just hope we hang on to Mason

ski-ing or snowboarding. he got injured at blackpool last game of season 2010., spent summer recouping his knee then went on then slopes an fecked his knee again, out for 6mths, made comeback feb2011, club kept it schtum, stuck by him and he went and shat on them from a great height. for that reason he is not well liked in BS3 anymore, anyway least his little boy is Bristolian
