Full Backs

Right Back, Left Back needed ASAP. Actually would like a pacy centre half too, to compensate Hudsons snails pace. In a couple of years we have gone from scoring SIX at Crapton Gate to conceding FOUR! Come on! Bristol played very well, but our defensive game was horrendous. Tan get your chequebook out, pay off Langston, hire some kind of tactics expert to advise Mackay. And I might stop moaning about the rebrand for a week!

Agree with your comments about the full backs. Also need a proper target man....Helguson not big enough, strong enough or fast enough! Nicky Maynard would be nice too....or Johnny Russell. Still feel we are 2 or 3 players away from a top two team. Hope I'm wrong though.

A mobile target man yes, maybe Velikonja could do that role? Early days for him, its the defence that worries me and has done since Johnson and Loovens. Hudson is very very good against target men strikers, hopeless against pacy ones. When did we last have a great left back? Cant think of one, Capaldi, Kennedy, Barker, Legg all just good pros. Delaney was our last great right back, super Kev was very good but now inconsistent, suprised MM has used his 'war chest' on offensive rather than defensive positions.

Yes perhaps Velikonja will be the answer...but at this rate we will never find out. He looks a bit too small for target man that's why I'd like a bigger guy in as I feel that people like Mason, Velikonja and Tommy Smith would benefit from a proper target man. No I can't think of a left back either. Who was that guy we had from Plymouth some years back? Was it Sullivan?
