imo ..thats the problem... we have got rid of quinn...naylor...gerrard ...blake...and brought in only connelly... plus malky wants kienen out aswell ...that leaves us with declan john ....osilaja and ben nugent all from the academy as the back up .....look what happened at bristol on saturday when turner was out injured ??????....we have the numbers in midfield now... and for me we have enough strikers if used in the right way ....but we got to get defenders in who can be first choice not back up ....taylor and mcnoughton have no competition for there place and dont appear good enough to play the role malky asks of them....when they push forward and lose the ball or (as usual)miss pass it we get caught on the break with them out of position... i fear that we cant cope defencively if we get injuries or suspensions without bringing in at least 2 new defenders ...and thats without taking blips in form into account ....we must have competition for places all over the park ...just my oppinion and observations after watching every pre season and league games this season all ready..

not sure who you looking at.... ime talking about darcy blake and he dont look over weight ....i do know his body fat index was quite high on returning from the summer break...but he certainly did not look unfit in any of the games he played in pre season ....now lets be honest with each other malky did not like or rate him ...so hes gone just like gerrard quinn and naylor ....kienen and earnie next ...my point is we should have replacements in before geting rid of malkys dislikes

I agree about letting them go (even though no great loss any of them for me) and getting in replacements as it did show at brizzle but i do trust him

Maybe, but out of current back 4 with connolly and a n other they would not get in before (as cover or otherwise) in front of any of them ? so no place on the bench either

Part wishful thinking on my part, but also we all know we need at least 1 defender, so MM will get someone in once the prem have done their 25man squads, for sure (ps, i am not one of those privileged enough to be ITK)

I don't think it makes much difference other than losing dead wages.
How many league appearances did naylor and Quinn make? Next to none. Losin them has no effect.
Blake replaced by Connelly - no effect.

Keinan played next to no league games but Gerrard did so Keinan will be the back up to the back up now.

The only effect these players had was in the cup but I'm more than happy to see the young players come in for those games.

I think cowie could to do a job.
I think Kiss would be a disaster at fullback, far to erratic.

I feel that kiss would be able to cover but cowie would be out of positon too much, we still need a new full back for cover.

connelly for blake ..no effect ....er 150 k difference in cost to sign plus what ever difference in wages ....blake was one of the lowest paid of the regulars at city ...and connelly was on premiership wages at qpr ...?????????? if there just like for like playing wise ie on bench ...blake would save us a considerable amount in ££££

Yep. Our Achilles heel hasn't been sorted. It's surprising that an ex-defender (MM) would not pay more attention to that part of the team he is managing. Still time, though, I suppose.

Difference in personal is nothing.

If you want to talk wages we have already saved on naylor and Quinn who were not needed.

Blake may have been on low wages but he had 1 year left on his deal and tuned down a new contract. Connelly has signed a 3 year deal so in turn now also has a resale value.

Where is your evidence on the wages for Connolley and Blake? It is likely Blake was on less, but Connolley didn't sign a new deal with QPR whilst they were in the prem, leaving him on his original wages when he was in the Championship. And it's not that easy that you can just buy players and then sell others. You have to get rid sometimes before you can bring in more players. I expect that we will sign another defender soon, whether it's a permanent deal or a loan deal
