OK - OUT OF CURIOSITY, NEXT FIXTURES....

Mon Aug 27, 2012 10:38 am

WE PLAY:

Wolves at home,
Leeds at home,
Millwall away,
Crystal Palace away,
Blackpool at home,
Birmingham at home,
Ipswich away.

THAT WOULD COMPLETE OUR FIRST TEN GAMES.

How many points would you EXPECT to get from those games, given a fully fit squad.
and
How many points do you THINK we'll get based on what we've seen so far?

I think we would hope to get 17 points, but only managing to get half of whats available at 10/11 pts.... based on
current performances.

Agree, I don't know about expectations but I think that we will take 10/11 points from those games unless things improve dramatically and we go on a decent run.

Carl, I fail to share your optimism mate. I can see Wolves, Blackpool giving us an hiding! and Ipswich beating us as usual.

17 points would give us 1 more point than the same stage last season :? I'm not that confident but if we can get back to a few clean sheets then maybe 12 - 14 points is possible.

But without clean sheets then 10-11 points will be a struggle.

I think we will get 15 points, a few difficult games, Millwall away, Blackpool at home, can see us drawing these 2 games. :)

Do people feel MM will accept his mistakes and radically change his team set up to kick start our season in September.

Wolves at home, Win
Leeds at home, Draw
Millwall away, Draw
Crystal Palace away, Win
Blackpool at home, Draw
Birmingham at home, Win

Adding to that I'm not that bothered. Very strange feeling.

I am an optimist, but I can see us losing at least one, maybe two of them, Blackpool and one other possibly Wolves.... I hope I am wrong........

If Malky and our owners want automatic promotion, then I expect us to win every game.

But realistically I think we'll get 11 points.

Agree, but with Leeds and place vice versa, a good 13 points tho :ayatollah:

Re: OK - OUT OF CURIOSITY, NEXT FIXTURES....

For me, to get a top 2 finish, we need to average just under 2 points per game for a normal season.

That means by the end of 10 games, to be on par, we should have either 20 points, or 19 at least.

We would therefore need to get 15-16 points from the next 7 games (21 points are up for grabs).

With the players and the squad we've got, that is definitely possible, but with the current tactics, I'm not so sure.

I can see us only getting about 10-11 points and having to play catch up.

Having said that, 2 wins and we're back on par after 5 games :ayatollah:

Craig, even though we are at home the next 2 home games are tough games, if we win these then Malky will be back on track, if we lose or draw them both, I really see the fans starting to turn the screw on Malky.

Agree with Annis, as above.

The next 2 home games are huge games. Can't really think of longer term predictions at the moment......I'd say after the first ten games is when the team should be playing at full strength and in full flow together.

2 wins against Wolves and Leeds and the whole tone should change of everyone......stating the obvious I know!
