Malky's bid for Rodriguez

Sun Aug 26, 2012 5:27 pm

I believe it was around £5.5m. If that is the case he must have more money in the kitty. He's spent around that amount on Kim, Velikonja and Mutch. If all he had was £5.5m in the first place surely he was never going to blow it all on just one player. He must have had plans to strengthen all departments. Strange how he was prepared to spend so much on a quality striker but ended up spending only a million on Velikonja and a few quid on Helguson. It's such a key position and promoted teams usually have plenty of fire power. I certainly hope that Malky has something up his sleeve regarding a top quality striker or he might pay for it with his job come the end of the season. Don't think VT would take failure lightly after giving Malky such a good budget. :ayatollah:

I hope he is waiting for Maynard, I think west ham will bring in a striker which means Maynard can then move on , plus Maynard will want to sort out a pay off from west ham

He said on IPLAYER there was never a bid gone in it was all paper talk and just that , after the fatman questioned him on the guy we lost to saints so that cleared all the 6millions bullshit bid that was supposed to have gone in :ayatollah:

If Vincent tan is prepared 2 back us as he as has said , and as blackburn have allegedly pulled out of the race for Rhodes we should offer Huddersfield what they want as I believe his goals would get us up :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

They just brought a striker in west ham, maynard wont happen now,

same reason as last season malky sets is hopes on one or 2 players, if he doesnt sign them he'd rather act like a prat and dwell on it than take another target even if the price may not be in malkys favour, but the player would do a job , he'l rather let the club miss out on the gain

Excellent post.

I believe in the 4-5-1 and am in favour of it as that is the system that most sides tend to employ nowadays, but if Helguson is to remain up front then he needs a partner, such as a poacher type like Rodriguez, Maynard or Velikonja.

It's a hell of a conundrum

Rhodes would be gamble, big fee and unproven at this level so I don't think MM would take a chance on him and that is reason all our signings are steady players because MM wont take a chance and it could cost us come May.
If someone else in the championship does take a chance on Rhodes IMO it will pay off big time.

I think Rhodes will flop after his next move.

I wouldn't say signings like Etien and Kim are safe, quite the opposite.
