What is your formation & starting XI??

What would your formation and starting XI be if it was your choice??? And what sort of tactics would you go for?

I would go for a 4-3-3 at home which reverts to a 4-5-1 when away.

or maybe 4-4-1-1 Im still undecided on our best team myself, mainly because I havent seen enough of the newer players.
or even 4-2-3-1

In realist during a game all those formations boil down to the 4-5-1 and I like the formation just not the way the team is set up to play it at the moment. Certain players need to be allowed more freedom in games to join up with Helguson.

Liked the look of Smith yesterday as well so would have him on the bench or would swap with Mason.

4-1-2-1-2/ 4-1-3-2 more focus on attack than defense.( time to cash in on whitts IMO he's run his course with us)

Andrew Taylor seems to be getting done too often at left back. I'd give Whitts a rest to be honest.
perhaps? we need a more high tempo approach. Gunnarsson and Mutch will give us energy in the
middle of midfield and nobody will give us the run around. Bellamy and Kim Bo are self explanatory.
I think Velikonja and Mason (like the two lads in the centre of the park) will give us lots of movement.
Etien looks a good prospect and full of energy, will keep the opposition defence busy. Joe, i truly think
is the man who will get us goals this season. There is a lot of pace and most important of all, movement in
this line-up

Whitts played deeper in midfield last season. Remind me who our top scorer was?

Two managers in a row have utilised him there which is enough. The problem is lack of form. Which some people seem to think means we should sell him...

Ideally I would have selected Whitts instead of Mutch in the middle, but his performances this season so far have been lackluster, he cannot tackle and gives possession away too easily. No one player is too good to start on the bench for a couple of games. May give him the kick up the arse he needs.
