Afternoon Gents??!!

Afternoon Gents - Is it really a little harsh for some to be thinking about Malky's position !?

In my opinion yes ,but I don't think he's helping himself . The honeymoon is well and truly over , no more moaning about inherited players who cannot fit the system he wants us to be playing . This is now Malky's team /squad, no doubting that and it will take a while under competitive circumstances for us to hit full pace - but lets not forget the race has already started ,we've already dropped more points than we've picked up and we cant afford to get left too far behind !

DM has done more than anyone to help us get points on the board this season but against HTFC the defensive cracks in front of him, for me , were pretty obvious to see , yesterday the Wurzels blew those cracks wide apart . The concern for me is that we dont seem to be making any progress . That latter part of last season was pretty poor imo and this season has furnished "a low key start " at best .

I dont think the back four is a unit that will see us into the Premier League next May !

AT is inconsistent , switches off and gets caught out of position too regularly . KM has been an excellent servant but is now past his best , he gives the ball away too regularly and is ineffective in the " right wing back" role Malky is seemingly giving him. BT/MH are not a partnership for me , its one or the other with a far more mobile operator alongside . Neither is a great passer of the ball , both lack pace and tactical/positional nous . This HOOFBALL we see from them week in ,week out is disgraceful and more worthy of a place in parks football ! Last season we had MILLER/ EARNIE & MASON and infrequently RUDY and every game both employed the seige cannon !!!!!

This season we have a little more height - though not much - and we still employ the same tactic , with a lone striker plus a lack of close support ! Does Malky watch whats going on each week !? Is he happy with this HOOFBALL !? I can only summise he must be !! Where exactly does MC fit in ? LB ? LCB ? BT is a better option than MH for me !?

In midfield , we are blessed with a lot more talent . We have JMu/AG with good defensive ability and yet we too often see one of the jewels in our crown , PW employed so deeply that his effect as an attacking option is nullified ! Again does Malky see whats happening on the park ! CB , when available , can destroy PL defences down the left hand side . Its still early doors and he's already getting double-marked . Question ! Why does Malky operate Kev M , a guy with a dire final ball and poor crossing ability ,as the wideman on the right , where we should be exploiting any potential gaps caused by the over-attention to CB ?

DC for me is not a wideman , this is apparent not only in his lack of pace but in Malky playing him wide right , but effectively on the RH side of the centre circle , the only time he hits the touchline is to take the odd throw in off Gunnars ! Is Malky putting all his eggs in the Bo basket - although from what info I can get he often plays on the left ! JMa was one of our better players last season and a breath of fresh air but this season is seemingly out on a limb !

HH has impressed me with his effort but in fairness he is so isolated at times he seems like a C17 plague victim .This policy of one lone sheep up front until were almost dead & buried is beyond me .Again , does Malky see whats happening on the park this season already as well as last !?

TS showed some good touches and a footballing brain yesterday but where is he going to play. Wide right ? On the bench ? Lone sheep ? The hole !?

Im not yet convinced by EV ! That said according to Malky , we've had our eye on him for sometime and he has had a headstart on the rest of the squad as the Slovenian season was already well underway ! To be fair to the Slovene , he hasn't had much of an opportunity , but given his training/match sharpness advantage , why not !!??

To me , we havnt made a great deal of progress under Malky . We still look defensively weak & understaffed . Our midfield , despite the influx of personnal , looks confused and laboured , pace is still missing if we exclude CB & the unknown quantity that is Bo., but two with pace is insufficient. Again up front , we have HH ,RG,RE,EV,TS,JM all seemingly battling for the lone sheep's role !!

Come on Malky mate ! Give us a clue ! Show us a chink of light ! Show us you are more likely to lead us to the PL than end up as a parks manager !

After all thats gone on during the summer , the club needs success on the park , success in the form of promotion - nothing less . Its too early to call for Malky's head , but BLAADY HELL WE NEED TO SEE SOME SIGNS OF PROGRESS BEFORE THE SEASON RUNS AWAY FROM US ! PULL YOUR FINGER OUT MALKY - SHOW US YOUR WORTHY OF MANAGING THE MIGHTY BLUEBIRDS - it takes more than the AYATOLLAH for me !! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah

To me the Midfield is the problem !! No balance what so ever and that also impacts on our defence and forward line. Get that balance with the right players in there right positions and we would be well on our way to sorting it out :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
