Newport County

Sun Aug 26, 2012 10:58 am

4 Wins from 4 and a massive game against second place Hereford on Tuesday.

Don't like Newport since that Friendly game 2000ish when their lads showed themselves up as bullys but tempted to pop over for a nose as should be a good atmosphere.

There will be trouble there on Tuesday night.

Ive always had a soft spot for County, have to be honest I think they were in their time probably one of the hardest game blokes about, you just couldnt hurt them. Beside that I love the Nigel Vaughan connection :ayatollah:

For once we agree Jinks

They also hate us like the Jacks hate us, prob worse.

But I honestly would like to see them back in the football league.

Don't mind the club.. But detest some of there fan's.

Had many a run in with them back in the day, nightclubbing in the port could be eventful.
Especially if you supported Cardiff and came from cwmbran/ pontypool. Lol
Didn't stop us having a good time tho. :ayatollah:

Massive week for the AmberArmy this week Hereford on Tuesday night followed by Wrecksam on Saturday.

We are expecting a 4k + crowd on Tuesday night and now the Trust hold 2 of the 4 seats in the Board so are a 50% Fans owned club

Good luck for the season. Welsh clubs doing well can only be a good thing for us all

Most parts of the ground for Hereford game tomorrow are now sold out. A few hundred tickets left for the North Terrace, so if anyone fancies coming along I'd grab a ticket now!

I will be there as photographer !

They may hate us, but when the Swansea half time score at QPR was announced there was no reaction from the crowd at all, perhaps they like them ?

Just out of interest, but why "tangerine", surely amber would be more appropriate.

i'm aware NCFC played in tangerine between 1969-79, but didn't realise that you actually re branded to blue & white stripes during your poor season of 76/77. How did you feel about playing in this strip?

I hope we get to play you again in the league one day, I'd love to witness a Cardiff-Newport match and see our old rivalry can rekindle. :ayatollah:

No I was was there during the Argentina season. That's was around the time I started to go regularly to Somerton.
I fell in love with the Ironsides because I use to walk over Somerton Bridge every day to Junior School.

Tempted to pop down myself, never been to a County game even though I live in Caerleon and regularly get grief from Cewnty boys. Tempted, not to support our neighbours, but more so that I can experience a packed out, tight ground under the floodlights, now thats been a long time. Also as I dislike Hereford!

Would like Cewnty, Wrexham and.............Merthyr back in the leagues, Welsh football on the rise. :ayatollah:

Re: Newport County

Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:10 am

county play in tangerine because the founder of the club was originally a wolves fan

I cant stand county I am afraid ,they didnt want to know when we were being walked from newport station in 88

but on our first game back in the fourth they attacked me and 3 mates when we walked back to our car , about 20 of them gave us a right scare , bullies
