Dave Jones

We are hearing a lot of our former Manager who so far has been doing a sterling job at Sheffield Wendsday. Now I was one who wanted him gone and now Malky is under immense pressure and I still stand by why I wanted him gone.
Dave jones took over when we needed a decent Manager and we got it in DJ but as the years went on he was on massive wages and became comfortable and in the end it felt if he was just taking the wages as his interest in Cardiff City had just melted away. Discipline was non exsistant and he was never interested in taking training sessions. There was no heart to Cardiff City that exists to this day.
Now DJ has moved to a Club with loud passionate fans something we used to boast we had but now our heart and soul has been ripped out. But DJ has gone from never winning when we fall behind to always winning when they fall behind at Wed.
I wish Dave Jones and Sheffield Wed well but DJ and CCFC parted company at the right time because I feel when DJ left he had no feelings left for CCFC.
We now have Malky and let's see if he can turn this around. All is not well at the moment a blind man can even see it and his tactics are questionable . For me the tactics seem sound it's just the players he is picking is just not right.

Dave Jones. Miracle worker. If the Malaysians backed him as much as theyve backed Malky this summer we would be in the PL now.

Think his tactics are a bit dubious as well!

Maybe he just can't handle the pressure of so many decent players and not being able to drop his 'close' comfort players - those that are not as good as others but won't say boo-bah!

Who knows but given what he has at his disposal and the crock of shite served up so far - he won't have much time on his hands to sort it out, I reckon defeat against Wolves and the Malaysinas will be considering their options!

Good point. He signs a lot of decent players and he has width and pace in his teams and thats why Wednesday have been doing so well. They will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

This was DJ parting excuse. He claimed that there were a lot of better players out there that were there to be brought but he was forced into the loan market. Even so he had the likes of Chopra, Bothroyd, Bellamy, Burke up front with Whittingham and Oli in the middle that should have really done a lot better that they did. Lots of fans say DJ was let down by the big names who failed to rise in the improtant games. Could be an element of truth in that but as manager DJ was responsible that hegot the best from them.

I am reserving judgement on him at the moment. Sheff Wed have played a couple of the lesser teams and a poor performing Birnimgham, a bit like usare the Brums. Lets see how they play against the more fancied championship sides.

Should never have sacked Sir Dave in my opinion, we have a footballing side now and I really think Sir Dave would get us playing some superb stuff. Shame he's with Wednesday now, would love it if they got promoted this season, would cause a stir among the significant and vocal anti Daves on here.

Ian tha talks bollocks at times! Your just anti Jones full stop! We have played lesser teams lol, your so called promotion team have beat a Huddersfield team who had their leading goal scorer out injured and marshall was man of the match, you drawn at Brighton and lost against very unfancied Bristol City, We have outplayed the three teams we have played and should have won at Derby! The other teams are only as good as you let them play and the Wednesday are out playing the three we have played and deserved to be were they are in the table! Malkeys had a season in the championship already so whats his excuse! I would watch 4-4-2 everyday of the week, Playing with 1 up front,id rather watch paint dry! Megson got the sack, for playing the same way as Malky and i an see the same happening to Malkey! If you don't go up this season you never will.

I prefer 4 4 2 as you are more likely to create chances/score goals. 4-5-1 has a place if you are away to a team like blackpool who have significant attacking threat

Gareth you even play 4-5-1 at home!

I'm not happy unless the 4 5 1 becomes more 4 3 3. I'll give Malky 12 games. If we are in top6 or thereabouts I'll be happy. Bottom half and pressure will increase.

What you going to say when we win the much fancied teams? Wait till november? ;)

Re: Dave Jones

What ever any one thinks of Dave Jones, it certainly can't be denied that he was one of the best City managers of all time.

His legacy at City will always be that he & his team got us to within 90 minutes of Premiership football, but just couldn't quite make it to the finishing line.

It begs the question why? Was it a manager problem, or the clubs problem???

Re: Dave Jones

He seems to be enjoying his time at Sheffield Wednesday unlike his time here. His lack of passion, respect and motivation with us fed through to the players, hence why they were out on the piss before important games.

Re: Dave Jones

I think dave jones had to much power here last season or so and that was his downfall

here here, but he wasnt backed we all know that now even he said after leaving the malaysians wanted promotion on the cheap so only loan players they would give him, as much as i didnt like DJ and his media spin atleast he played some attack minded flowing football in most games it was entertaining even when we was 4-0 up at peterbrough and drew 4-4  f**k me under MM its the most boring hoofing football ive watched us for many of years and hes got all the players he wanted now unlike last season and its still the shittest football ive watched like the back half of last season nothings changed yet :ayatollah:

Re: Dave Jones

DJ was a top manager for us and definitely played a massive part in pushing us on and making us a top end Championship club.

I liked the guy but after failing to get promotion with the wealth of talent he had secured, it was definitely his time to go.

I wish him all the best at Sheff Wed but hope that we smash them in the two games.
