Darcy Blake to Crystal Palace, All but done, all done the Crystal Palace side, just waiting on some lose ends our side. Fee approx £300,000.
Sad to see a local lad leave us, all the best Darcy.

Tommy Smith, our club is still very confident of completing the deal.
Only snag Smith would of liked to have stayed in the London area.

Updated :ayatollah:

Darcy now officially a Palace player, good luck Darcy. :ayatollah:

he can go to Palace with Blake!

We can then get in a much needed traget man - and before anyone says we don't need one - even Swansea had one and it pains me to say it but they played the best promotion footbal for years!!

I think its very sad he leaving, very under rated and at £300,000 palace got a hell of a bargain... :( :ayatollah:

£300 K for Blake and get a replacement for £500K. Connolly is probably not as good as Blake either (almost certainly) as proven international.

Gutted really as the 2 would have been great back up as they would have covered all across the back 4. So we would only take up 2 places on the subs bench.

Don't understand this. Blake would have been a better long term partner for Turner (maybe Wales as well).

Now they are going for Smith, who does not want to come here.
What a wate of money as they are probably offering big wages to entice him, and he will not get in the team.

Darcys come back looking fat again in my oppinion. Got skimmed when i watched up in cheltenham. Iv allways been a fan of local players but darcy in my oppinion has issues outside of football and a fresh start may do him good. Saying that i dont believe london is a good place for him. Somehere quiet would have been better

I will be sad to see local boy darcy leaving city as I think he would of been a very good squad player for city this season. He has proved that he has potential as he was awesome in the two games that wales played england last season and kept rooney very quiet. All the best darcy blake :ayatollah:

Blake turned down the offer of a new contract as he wanted first team football and wasn't interested in a place on the subs bench. Smith wants to stay in London as his wife and kids are settled there so not really a question of him not wanting to come here just putting his family first. I am guessing that City will insist that if he signs he will have to be based locally

Would HAVE for god sake! Aren't you an author!!!!

Jesus! Who cares! A forum is a place to chill out, who wants to be proof reading posts before they click submit. It's a Cardiff City football forum not a rendition of the Queen's speech.

Sad to see local boy darcy go, good signing for palace!

Malky's arrogance with the back four concerns me a tad .Difficult to argue with X2 clean sheets but we need at least one FB & another CB to come into the team not act as cover ! Marshall had major impact on fact we're only team in Championship yet to concede !!Feel defence of AT/BT/MH/KM will come back to haunt us at some stage . We've had sufficient time to address the issue and with AG gone and seemingly DB & DK on the move we've no experienced cover at all ! :ayatollah:
