I tried to embrace the RED

Sun Aug 19, 2012 9:15 am

but its a site for sore eyes.

It really f*cking is.

Im still on board with malaysians and thankful for our existance and their investment in the team
but I cant forgive them for this change.

That wasnt my Cardiff City on Friday night.

It was like watching a new club. :(

Most of the fans that I saw in red on Friday in red were children aged 4 -12 years. There were a few older ones but the majority were the youngsters who had their shirts bought for them by their parents so that they could be like other children of their age. I still cannot see the club selling red to match the sale of blue shirts.

On Friday it was a blue stadium with many fans wearing blue or 'neutral colours' (not knowing what to wear) with a sprinkling of red. Just didn't look good. Confused identity? People say its only a colour but its a colour that we have had for 104 years. It's difficult just to throw away history. :ayatollah:

So you didn't celebrate with the rest of the ground when Hudson scored in injury time ?

Jesus christ, here we go again, has this not been done to death by now??? it,s a shame that some fans feel this way but lets all move on, lets give malky and the squad all the support we can, because lets be honest, that,s what we are here for is it not???

Exactly, i hope you can now see the point i was making last week when you were having a go.

It's just not right. :(

I was having a go because you said you hoped we would lose if it helped get blue back.

Big difference. I still want City to win every game.

Everything takes time

not sure how long it will take but people have short memories and i am afraid to say if we do go up this season blue will be quickly forgotten by the majority

I celebrated as much as anyone when Hudson hit that winner, so i guess no matter what i thought i'd feel like, i 100% wanted us to score that goal on Friday night. It was just hard to explain what i meant on a messageboard and still is.

But yeah even when i did celebrate, i can only echo what you said on this thread, i just wasn't right at all.

Working here in Derby I intended leaving early to get to the game. i was asked to stay on and usually I would refuse to do that. this timeI had no problem carrying on working till 5 therefore missing the game. The fact the game was on telly helped me make up my mind buteven so I would rather be there.

So I ended up watching the game on the box and quess what....I didn't celebrate when we scored. Yes I want us to win every game but at the moment the joy is not there.

I completely disagree, At 1st I was furious at the change, Watching City playing in red Friday was exactly the same as watching us in blue, My feelings have not changed one bit to wards my team. :ayatollah:

Even watching the game on tv was difficult. kept thinking we were Hudderfield for the first ten mins. Also it looked ridiculous with us playing in red and there being blue seats in the stadium. Still glad I didnt renew st , hopefully my opinion will change over time. :ayatollah:

Been feeling detatched from the City for a while now but the rebrand
and Malkys awful brand of football are telling me not to renew.

Polo - you have been very reaosnable about the whole thing, and I do understand where you're coming from about Malky's tactics, but give it at least until Xmas, as with new players, we do need to gel together, and by then the colour may become less of a problem - if you feel the same then, then fair enough, but give it at least 1/2 a season.

I don't want us to lose any of our loyal fans - we need everyone on board, especially the loyal fans who've been there over years :ayatollah:

i sky plussed it as i was out.i support blues(brum)and i thought you were huddersfield for the first ten minutes.very strange watching it tbh.the atmosphere was very strange too.as a neutral it just doesn,t sit right so i can easily see why a ccfc fan would struggle to embrace red

I'm with you, seeing the team walk out to those red and black flags, while Ali doesn't say "The Bluebirds" did it for me. I was sceptical anyway but that made it all real and it just didn't feel like the same City that I grew to love over the last few years.

Maybe we can hope for a change back next year :(

Coming from a Brum fan when they were under Kumar who endorsed a shirt with coloured spots. how did you get your head around that one :?:  :? .... We all need to see past the colour has hard as it is to accept. We are all Cardiff City these are the good times and there will be more to come. We are still the Bluebirds and always will be ! Our new signings will need time to bed in, and will do. In my opinion, Cardiff city were always blue to me and I always will be a bluebird but it`s been done now and I will see past the red colour and I want us to move on and put all these divisions to bed, and yes I want our club back in top flight football. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

To be honest I found it stranger watching Southampton without the stripes against man City earlier than I did watching the city come out in red.

I guess I've spent all summer preparing for red Cardiff so I've mostly got used to it now.

When we scored yes i celebrated but it just didnt feel right. It wasnt of pure joy as it used to be in fact i still felt flat.
Blue is more than a colour to some !! and as for myself and others we don't have to justify our reasons for why we feel the way we do. :ayatollah:

Well it certainly confused Hudson as he "successfully" passed to blue shirts all night !!!!

Sorry talking football......
