Leeds fans...

Sat Aug 18, 2012 1:38 pm

Huge stadium (38,000 I think) and only about 23,000 in there so their ground is less full than ours last night. Wolves are on top at the moment and the Leeds fans are very loud. Why can't our fans be like that in a stadium that's 12,000 seats smaller?

I know it's possible for our ground to be loud because I've been there when it is for the Leicester playoff game and Jacks at home 2010.

Because our fans aren't what they used to be sadly. The likes of Leeds and Portsmouth are proper fans with proper passion. Leeds would have a full house every game if it wasn't for Ken Bates charging ridiculous prices. Unfortunately, I think some of our fans reaction to the rebranding shows we are not as passionate about the our football club as we used to be. There's too many fans who don't really care about our football club, they just turn hope hoping we will get promoted so they can see Premiership football and their "heroes" like Wayne Rooney playing in the flesh.

Fans who get behind the team non stop. Did you go to our home game against Portsmouth? We scored a late winner and the Portsmouth fans immediately started signing and getting behind their team straight away. In comparison, we can barely get behind our team when we are winning! The CCS was like a morgue last night, our fans aren't how they used to be sadly. :(

OK, that's completely fair - and I accept that (I was at the Portsmouth game and agree with your coments) - sometimes I think people are just talking about fans acting like kids in a playground against the opposition fans and calling that atmosphere, when its the kind of thing that I wouldn't want to be anywhere near.

The points you make there though are valid and I am always appalled when I see people leaving early and more interested in what is going on in the terraces than what is happening on the pitch.

I agree with you entirely on the plastic element who would be more interested in the opposition players if we play a big team, than with our own players.
