Supporter Survey Results

Did anyone see this?

I know the number of people who answered the survey is small compared to the total membership of the FSF, but I thought some interesting points came out of it. See what you think.

Hey Nedd Glas, this might be interesting if your able to view it, its from last season in regards to a day out at a football match.

Interesting how Watford is the cheapest day out, however they're still not able to attract large crowds at home, whilst West Ham was the most expensive, and had very large crowds. Obviously there are a number of factors because of this, ex-premier team, bigger fan base etc....but surely Watford would be able to attract more than 12,000+ at gates with those prices. Yet, West Ham are charging more and still attracting the crowds.

I read this earlier and agree with a lot of what they said.

Cheers, azz. I was surprised to see we fared so well, in terms of price. Probably not fair to compare Watford with West Ham, as they were never well supported, as far as I remember, even when they were remotely successful in decades gone by. That table you posted highlights the expense involved, though, for what is a small amount of entertainment during, for some, a long day out. I think football could be about to lose some of its appeal (if it's not already) amongst its traditional loyal fanbase. I hope I'm wrong, because it's a great day out, but I feel (and some of my friends do) that certain aspects of football today have been discredited.

Another rising statistic is the weight of support for the return of standing areas at football grounds, with 54.4% of the survey's respondents saying they prefer to stand during games, and 91.1% saying fans should be given the choice to sit or stand.

Finally this has come out on BBC. I got very pissed off last night being told to sit down when there were fans literally 4 seats to the right standing up

•74.4% are in favour of a salary cap
•51.6% think 'swearing & abuse is part of watching football'
•46.6% have experienced 'unfair treatment' from stewards

Some things that I believe should be sorted out as soon as possible

i think this table should be based on an adult ticket price, as clearly that table would change, thats based on the cheapest ticket available which is likely to be for a kid/oap
