were the tactics right

I know we one last night which is obviously good BUT did the manager get his tactics/formation right to start with?

think the formation was right apart from Cowie on the right, Not a right midfielder for me, would of swapped him for Conway. I also would of swapped Helguson for last 20 minutes, but what do I know we won

Bit disappointed with the performance but it was 1st game, pressure, nerves and all that and we won

Hopefully we will get stronger with Kimbo and maybe Tommy Smith, think we need another centre half to put pressure on the back two & Kev takes an hour a day to practice his crossing

Agree with you Jenks. I would have started Conway instead of Cowie but maybe Conway wasn't looking good in training or something?

My mate and I also said we would have taken Helguson off with 10-15 minutes left because he was looking tired. Like you said though Jenks, what do we know? We won didn't we!

First game done and.dusted with 3 points. Happy enough.

As for tactics......surely this formation doesn't warrant the amount of long balls played last night. Hopefully it was a bit of ring rust and we actually look to play a bit of football once the team is settled.

The fact Malky didn't sub Helguson Was a bit worrying for me, are we really only stuck with that option? Surely Velikonja was worth 15 mins?? Or Earnie really, he would've been a livewire and put their back four on alert.

I guess its difficult as you need to change tactics based on the other team as well .............
