Tough season ahead but isn't every season?

Sat Aug 18, 2012 7:09 am

No way did I expect a goal feast last night. It was always going to be tough against Huddersfield, with or without Jordan Rhodes. They are a well organised side and have had a settled team for a few seasons. Always going to be a pressure game, first game and being at home. City will improve as the season goes on. Job done 3 points, not the way we would have liked in terms of performance but 3 points nonetheless. To get out of this league though, we must build from the back and not hoof the ball up at any given opportunity. Do we have the players to do that? Be interesting to see what our best side will be. Certainly Kim will make a big difference to the side.Good luck City for the rest of the season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm very happy with the result lastnight! Huddersfield are no mugs, and they are still riding off the buzz of being promoted last season! They've made some good editions to there squad, and for me, they will be a top10 team. Its gunna take us a few games before our wheels start to properly turn. Untill then I'm more than happy for us to grind out results and have a bit of luck go our way. This league is a marathon, I'd rather us start off slow and build up pace as the season progresses, rather than start at a 100miles an hour only for us to run out of steam come the end :ayatollah:

Agree with every word, 3 points on the board is a great result against a team were in all intense and purposes playing for a draw, last season we wouldn't have got anything out of that game.
