The good and the bad

Fri Aug 17, 2012 10:41 pm

Tonight for the first time ever i was really not looking forward to this game. How was i going to feel ?
I was late getting to the ground so i missed the teams coming out but saw the kick off.

Coming into the Stadium in the Ninian there was large Photos of our past. Ninian Park, Past memories the supporters and IMO that was very good.

Seeing us in our new bright red kits was like a kick in the bollocks. Bad

The Atmosphere was flat, terrible, and i must admit i added to that as i did not have the heart or inclination to sing. And i felt many around me felt the same way. Bad

The supporters in general was very respectful around us. A few murmurs could be heard but did not lead to bad feeling Good

The game itself was awful shit awful ! Bad

Malkys tactics IMO was clueless. Last season Conway was ignored towards the end, and tonight was no different. Cowie out wide ! Not his natural position and was totally ineffective. Conway a natural winger was ignored.
Whitts played very deep and when Whitts plays bad he is shite and tonight he was shite. Kept giving the ball to a blue shirted Player. Pity he didn't do that more towards the end of last season
Bellamy had to come deeper and deeper to try and get the ball but was totally marked out of the game. You could see Bellers was getting very frustrated with what was going on around him as well. At no stage did Malky try and change tactics which is worrying. Very bad.

Marshall was superb Good

We won the game Very good, but to be fair we did not deserve it one jot.

I still left the ground very sad at what i witnessed, re brand wise, the atmosphere, the performance, Never have i come away so glum and won. It isn't right it does not feel right. Had a long chat with Dibs tonight, We disagreed on the re brand but respected each others opinions.

Hope the away games can inspire me more !! We'll see :ayatollah:

the the atmosphere was that of a club that has had it's heart ripped out totally souless which surprised me a little because the way the pro-reds had been saying that they were so excited about the start of the season and a brand new era i thought the place was going to be bouncing , after all they were telling everyone to turn up and get behind the team, well i just didn't see it, we look a divided disalluisioned group of supporters

Wasn't there for the game so can't disagree Steve apart from linking the performance to being their first game!!

In competitive turns anyway!
We r never gonna gel quick but will gel after a few games or maybe more!!!!

I think we will have more freedom away from home and play better footy,
Most teams will come to CCS and park the bus but for Bellers and others to hardly get the ball and to be closed down so quickly is worrying!
Malky will no doubt sort things out and I'm sure is well aware that whitts and others didn't play well!

You'll be back to your normal self Tuesday matey :ayatollah:

Although I don't agree with your view point on thr re branding, I fully understand it and the emotions that you felt last night. I also feel from reading your account that you will come around to accepting it and enjoying your football again, it will take sometime, but will be made easier if we are looking like the real deal after 15 games, which I fully expect. The crowds will start increasing, the branding forgot and we will all be behind the team once again :ayatollah:
