TG on debts

Fri Aug 17, 2012 9:06 pm

Very interesting exclusive interview with TG on Radio Wales 10 minutes ago, lots about rebranding etc, the key point though was he was asked if the club really was £70 million in debt, he replied 'of course not' when the interviewer asked him to put a figure on the clubs debt he said 'between 40 and 50 million pounds.

He was also asked if there was a plan for the clubs future should they not reach the premier league and he stated that the colour change was a big part of that, making the club more appealing to the far east, to increase revenues at this level and make the club sustainable.

Well last aprils accounts must be lies then because it shows 70+ million in the red :? and if we have had this 35million injection for this season as its stated come april again it should show 105million in the red of course if vt does not convert what we been told that is. This makes no sence why he would say 40-50 :ayatollah:

Whats your opinion on that then lads? If the debts are closer to 40 million that's only half the figure that's been banded about recently??

Debt to SH is shown as £15m + £9m in naming rights on the books, so if he thinks SH will take £15 then thats £9m off for a start.

Or perhaps he thinks all the nsecured debts aren't worth the paper they are written on :o

At May 2011 they were £70m.

£18m to SH (I forgot the £3m interest earlier on the £15m figure)
£9m naming rights
£7.7m to PMG
£2.7m to Ranson
£2.5m transfer fees
£2.1m trade creds
£1.1m dirs loans
£14.8m loans from VT etc
£1.5m PAYE/VAT
£8.7m Accruals/deferred income

Why does TG think its smaller ?

Well You can ignore the accruals (accounting technicality to do with ST money recived etc)

PMG is allegedly being paid back

Naming rights and part of sams debt probably not included in TG's figure

VT/TG loan will now be bigger mind

So this next set due in april 2013 for 2011-2012 season will show alot more if debt to equity is not resolved by then of course, thats why i said somebody is telling porkies somewhere along the line as these accounts can not be made up but then again you never know :ayatollah:

surely a proper interviewer would have had a copy of the accounts in front of him if he was going to ask those type of questions.

It just depends on what is defined as debt mate.

It may well be he doesn't count what he considers doesn't need to get paid ?

Exactly, one of the key things i thought he said was people are including out advances in those figures, obviously that means to my simplistic mind, they don't see money they have invested as a debt to themselves, they look on that as investment not debt.

It may well be he doesn't count what he considers doesn't need to get paid ?
