anyone else considering stopping following football?

Thu Aug 16, 2012 3:13 pm

I am starting to lose the spark. Help me!

It's the hatred and tribalism. it is the arrogance of players, coaches and fans.

it is the little selfish bubble the football industry is in.

it is media hype.

the feeling I am being taken for a mug.

anyone else feeling so disillusioned by football too?

It isn't the sport of football I feel disillusioned about, it is the industry aroubd it. I may hvae to walk away, not from my club red or blue, but from the industry ripping me off.

Nope, not for me.
It has changed from what what it was, some good parts, some bad parts but love it as much as ever.

All of that is going on around you. Up to you whether you let things like loan notes, shirt colours, rental agreements etc get to you. Just turn up with your mates, few beers, shout a bit and have a craic. All gets much easier then. Couple of wins, that's all you need!

No chance! Even if I tried stopping, I wouldn't be able to. I just don't think about the parts of football I don't agree with I.e player wages! Players acting like spoilt bratts, owners treating clubs like play things etc and just concentrate on the things I love about football and why I love my hometown rollercoaster club the bluebirds :ayatollah:

Yeah chin up mate,
We've had a horrible summer but tomorrow night it all kicks off and it's what we live for :ayatollah:

Brush aside those cobwebs of doubt and get down the City and support the boys.

I had my doubts, with what I was gonna do when the rebrand happened for real, everyone's worst nightmare.
But it's happened, yes football is as u say now just a business to many and it's evolving all the time,

But I don't care about any other team apart from our beloved City. :ayatollah:

I don't think you'll see any arrogance from our players , just hard working men trying to achieve what we all want, promotion.

And this could be our year, so jump on mate and f**k all the negative shite.

CCFC :D :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Felt like taffy123 putting that last line in

No,but I've never got into the commercial rip off, bought my season ticket every year and nothing else. Never bought a shirt, try not to buy drinks at the stadium, take my own flask etc. Just go to the stadium, enjoy the match, support the team then go home.Thats my philosophy, but Ijust maybe old and cinical. :old:

I go through stages of yes and then no. The only reason stopping me is the mates I've made through football

I think a lot of people now enjoy it more as a social gathering than about the football tbh.

Yea I pretty much have stopped following football. The rebrand has ruined city in my eyes, can't find any passion for it now we've sold out. I will watch Wales now and again though.
