Joe Lewis

I know it's early, and he hasn't quite settled in, But I don't think he's good enough for us. Looks very shaky dealing with crosses and high balls, even though hes what 6'4? could be very dangerous for us if anything happens to marshall

I'm not jsut talking about northampton, at peterborough too. but i think you need to watch the highlights again

was shit for the first goal, and failed to deal with another throw and the corner for the goal.

does seem a decent shot stopper though

Said when he signed that he was very similar to Marshall with regards to his weaknesses. Still pretty young for a keeper though and will push Marshall hard.

Don't judge him on one game, Northampton were a tall side upfront & Lewis was in is first competitive match..let him settle in.

:( What slightly worries me is, I am not judging him on one game, i have been to a few friendlies (and deffo wanted him to be no1) and shot stopping (as with most of our keepers over the the years) is fine, but he does not command his box enough for a big keeper ? and some of his punching is not great either, but i am willing to keep faith with him, let's see what happens when he is called upon WHEN IT COUNTS ? ;)

I remember when Peterborough signed Lewis for a lot of money from Norwich (£400k for a lower league transfer) and at the time it seemed a good deal because he was a top up and coming keeper with England under 21 caps. However, Peterborough have ruined him. He's still a great shot stopper but he's like Marshall Mark II and a slightly worse version with his handling of high balls.

I think he has the raw talent but just needs to be re-trained. Hopefully our goalkeeping coach can do a job on him.

Hey,

As a Peterborough United Fan we couldn't wait to get rid of him

He makes some unbillable saves but, and that’s about it, he fumbles easy ball can’t deal with crosses doesn’t like being challenged.

He was good when we brought him but struggled more and more as we went through the leagues and has gotten found out time and time again.

Well in summary if you have Lewis in Goal, teams wont score many good goals against you but you will let in loads of appalling goals.

1 or 2 Posh fans on Twitter said he's not very good , infact 1 even laughed when heared we had signed him . At the end of the day they released him on a free transfer !!

So you want a good shot stopper, who's good in the air and commands his box.

I think you'll find all those keepes are in the premier league top 8!

Players at this level will always have weaknesses, thats why they play at this level.

Far too early to judge the guy, ridiculous.

Have you been to see him play ? If so you are well withing your right to reply to anybody who has watched him, and i am not 100% certain but isn't commanding your box a part of goalkeeping whatever level ? We expect a striker to score goals, we expect defenders to defend, why wouldn't we want a goalkeeper to do his job, and i have stated i will give him a chance again, but he does not inspire me with confidence atm

Lol you're acting like he's a kid fresh up from the ranks, I've seen him play, several times. Everyone says the same about him, so it's obviously not too early to judge him. I'm hoping he can improve anyway
